Function packed.
I am using these as a wireless bridge from a main control panel to a rotating drum. The transceiver on the drum is powered by a rechargeable battery. This allows me to transmit temperature wirelessly from a temperature card that communicates ModbusTCP via the RJ45 port. I have configured 2 of these W610 to work in a pair, 1 is set for AP and the other as STA. This provided a long sought for solution for a wireless bridge for ModbusTCP that is stable, and done with consumer grade hardware. Delighted with the results. This review does not include all the details of the use case.Later, 7/16/24I have read some reviews that are 1 star. Admittedly, some in depth knowledge is required to explore all the capabilities of these W610. Our team has created a Python script that can set the parameters/configuration to our needs via the Serial port. If you can't find the user manual, try this link: https://www.pusr.com/uploads/20240614/44573feb206c5d3ac878a7113c7495a8.pdf We have successfully been using these for 1: A wireless bridge for I/O modules communicating ModbusTCP 2:Remote slave panels with analog and digital signals controlled wirelessly 3: Ethernet to RS485 convertor to communicate/convert ModbusTCP to ModbusRTU We have purchased 20 units already, so far the performance after correct configuration for the application has been stable, predictable, repeatable. The manual may be challenging to understand since it most likely was translated from Chinese, but a careful study of the pictoral illustrations can help. A pair of these configured as AP and STA to our specs allowed us to use a PLC to send frequency and run commands to a VFD. The PLC connects to the AP via Ethernet cable. The VFD connects to the STA via 2 wire RS485. The PLC sends ModbusTCP commands and the USR-W610 STA unit converts the signal to ModbusRTU. The setup as Wireless has an observable lag/latency while the Ethernet wired setup has no observable lag. IMO these are worth the time/learning curve if you plan to use multiple units. Admittedly the details of configuration are numerous enough that much may be forgotten durng irregular use and configuration. The only thing we would caution against is using these for any internet traffic, of which the W610 is highly capable. Most of these devices require in depth knowledge on both hardware and software levels to secure properly against data breaches, embedded spying, ransomware, and other such digital atrocities. You have been warned.

Seemed to work ok
Does not support ‘break’. But worked ok for us

Very much difficult to configure
No manual, no technical information only hardware. Very difficult to configure

Lacks instructions and setup guide!
Instructions included and on support are total useless! Don’t buy unless you want to spend 4-5 hours to figure out how to use the product. I spent that much to figure out.Lacks a lot of advanced features and functions, but eventually got it to work.
