Does it lather? Is it fake if it does not? can someone tell how to check authenticity?

I can't vouch for this soap, but natural soaps made with a high percentage of olive oil usually give slick, but not very sudsy lather. So compared to European style milled soaps, olive oil soap doesn't lather well, especially if it's "super fatted" (meaning that a portion of the oil isn't fully saponified, which makes for better moisturization).

Has anyone tried this as a shampoo bar for dry hair?

I use it from time to time as shampoo for my hair and the hair feels good with it.

How long does one bar of soap typically last for?

I treat mine as a precious commodity and never leave it where it will be pelted by or sitting in water. How long it lasts will depend on the individual and whether you use it many times a day, daily, weekly and so on along with how careful you are to keep it from water when not in use. A bar I have used only for washing my hair has lasted over a year.

I'm looking to use this as a wedding favor, is it durable to be cut into smaller pieces?

Yes, you should be able to cut it without splintering.
