Royal Albert Candy Vintage Mug, 10.5 oz, Mostly White with slight Blue & Multicolored Print

The mug arrived in perfect condition and I was not disappointed with either its quality or design.As mentioned by other reviewers, the colouring is slightly more pastel than in the illustration - but this gives it a more subtle and sophisticated look. It is much easier on the eye than depicted. There is an inner decoration visible to a right-handed person whilst drinking, and an inner base decoration also.The china is very delicate and translucent as you would expect, with a thin rim edged in pink and gold.This mug has a slightly thicker foot than the Old Country Roses mugs - which makes it very stable.It is also 300ml.It is a truly stunning mug.

First off, the top photo is a reasonable representation of the color of this beautiful cup, but the bottom photo, the one with the hand holding the cup, is very blue/green, and is NOT the true color of the cup.That aside, this is a wonderful cup for an 8oz. cup of tea. The workmanship is first class, it keeps the tea warm, is elegant to hold, and easy to wash up. I don't buy many things like this, but this cup caught my eye and I'm really happy I splurged and bought it.The box it comes in is suitable for gifting, and it's packed in such a way that it should arrive without breakage.I don't buy many things like this, but this cup caught my eye, and I'm really happy I splurged and bought it.

I will review the good and bad.The Good—it is a beautiful cup. I adore it. It is much paler than the picture, just like the other reviews said. However if you’re fine with this color scheme (I was) you will like it. It’s giftable and very fun.The bad—THIS CUP IS MADE IN CHINA. maybe that doesn’t matter to some people, but when I purchase an item I avoid this whenever possible. Especially luxury items. There is no reason to pay a premium price, I may as well buy a cheaper item. People answered that this item was made in England, and that’s what I expected. Evidently I should have read all the reviews to know this. Hopefully I’ve saved you the trouble. It’s not even displayed on the Royal Albert official website, which I checked before buying. Obviously not the fulfillment seller’s fault.I received the cup today and the packaging by Amazon left a lot to be desired. Simply putting the gift box inside a bubble mailer is NOT enough and is likely why people receive broken items. This item should have been properly shipped in a box with paper or padding. I was happy and probably lucky to receive my cup in one piece.So in the future, I’m sad to say that I will not be buying new and will be exploring vintage items from Royal Albert that are made in England.

I love Royal Albert China. I gave this same style cup to my mother as a part of her Christmas gift last year and she asked for another one this year (different pattern). The cups are are delicate but sturdy and great for everyday use. The one I bought her last year she uses almost everyday and the pattern is just as vibrant as the day I bought it. The one I just bought is just as beautiful and with every penny. It came prime shipping arrived when it said it would and the Royal Albert box was packed securely with bubble wrap inside the amazon box.
