Poor tiny, intimidating directions in the packaging. But the product works great once you figure it out.
VicTec 2.4G High Speed HDMI Dongle worked really well and the delay between the phone and the television was about 1 second at the most. I love having this be wireless mirroring to the television, unlike some of the other devices/plugs out there. Unfortunately, the instructions given in the package were terrible. I will do my best to try to verbalize what I did to get this item to work for the iphone/ipad with a Samsung Smart TV. I don’t have an Android phone, but I think you need to download the Miracast app if you own an Android device.Rectangular item with one button is the dongle. Plug the long wire with the micro USB into the side of the dongle. Plug the dongle (with the long wire dangling) into an HDMI port on your television. Plug the USB from the long wire into the television. The long wire should now be plugged into the television via the USB and into the dongle via the micro USB. (I don’t know what the short wire with 2 HDMI ports that came with this package are for).Turn on TV with TV remote and click on “Source” button (center top of Samsung TV remote). (The “Source” button on the Samsung TV will change the television inputs from AV1 to HDMI 1 or HDMI2 or HDMI 3). Wait 1 minute for Dongle to load up on WiFi network.Go to iphone/ipad and choose “Dongle” under WiFi(Dongle Password for both the television and the iphone/ipad is: 12345678)Using TV remote, click on “HDMI 3” (or HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 depending on your television).Flick up “…” from near the bottom of iphone/ipad to activate “Airplay”. (it is found near the same area of your iphone that you use Airdrop). Airplay will only display if your WiFi on your iphone/ipad is connected to "Dongle"Click on “Dongle”Swipe on “Mirroring”If this does NOT work with your iphone/ipad, go to the dongle (that is plugged to your television) and push the button one time. Apparently, that one button on the dongle switches between Android and iphone/ipad. So, if your television AND your iphone/ipad is on the Dongle network and the mirroring is not working, pushing the one button on the dongle may solve your problem.Another reason that this may not work is that the Dongle might be attached to HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 instead of HDMI 3 like on our television. Use your remote to try out the different inputs and wait 1 minute in between changing inputs to see if your phone is mirrored on to the television.Swipe off “Mirroring” from your iphone/ipad to return to regular television.Yes, the first time is very complicated. It took my husband and me one hour to figure out all these tiny details. I hope this helps you.

Dongle works great, HDMI extension cable not so much
This Miracast Dongle works great. Plug it into the HDMI port, connect the USB cord, and it's ready to go. It defaults to DLNA, but press the button once, and it goes to Miracast. Then every time it starts up again, it goes directly into Miracast mode.Video quality is very good, almost as good as direct cable TV. There's a slight jitter when playing back fast motion when mirroring streaming video from a cell phone (4G LTE). I can watch NASCAR with very little motion artifacts. It's even better when playing streaming video from a WiFi connection. It works with a cell phone and also with Amazon Kindle. The dongle heats up slightly, but it's not hot, just warm to the touch.Only problem I encountered was when I tried to use the enclosed HDMI extension cable. The dongle did not start up at all on 2 different TVs. I would be lead to believe the HDMI extension cable is defective, but I'll have to try it on some other device to verify that assumption.

works great in iOS mode (Airplay) but when switching to Miracast ...
works great in iOS mode (Airplay) but when switching to Miracast (windows) mode, the updates are so slow that it's essentially unusable - you can't project in a meeting and "drive" the external display when there is a 3-5 second lag. It buffers the mouse moves, but it is completely impossible to navigate on screen with this delay. So it's a single mode dongle really, usable for iOS only. I also wasn't able to stream Amazon or YouTube video from either iOS or Windows.Update: Using Airparrots ($10 program) the windows platform can be used to stream to the dongle in Airplay / DLNA mode. With that, the speed is nearly without delay. It doesn't support true external screen (dual screen), but it allows you to share one application for the external screen, while using others on the local display. So in essence, it's almost true dual screen, allowing you to project a presentation or drawings etc on the large display while continuing to take notes etc locally. Combined, they work great! Also streams youtube videos in almost real time with Airparrots.

This was just a waste of money
This was just a waste of money. After few tries we were to connect a win10 laptop but could not see any picture, it was all black lines. We also tried with an iphone but it's not a simple process to make that connection. the lag was significant.Too bad I can't return it. This one goes to the recycle pile.

Not what I expected
Miracast function is really hit or miss, worked fine like 3-4 times then needs to be continously rebooted. I think the issue is the dongle not sending the appropriate download drivers to the computer. DLNA works kind of ok but it requires additional software and connecting to existing wifi connection is not easy. DLNA works fine if you are not streaming from the internet but using a previously downloaded file

Great product
This product was exactly what I was looking for. It works with my lg g4 phone. It is easy to use although I would recommend watching the video that someone else posted in the review section. It helped a lot.
