A quality product for my latest painting. I love these boards!

These panels are ideal for detailed paintings in oil paint and oil pastels. The surface is smooth and has just enough tooth for oil paint to glide on. The hardboard backing is tough and durable. The colors come out vibrant I get a perfect finished look with these boards. These can easily handle palette knife paintings with lots of thick paint. I prefer these boards to canvases and they are easy to frame.

I have always like the Ampersand boards for how smooth they are, allowing for extra details in painting. This product lives up to my expectations as always.

I’ve had a very good time painting on these 5x7” mini gesso boards. They allow me to paint more scenes I’ve photographed over the years that I didn’t think I would ever get to do in a larger format.

These panels are great to paint on, I really like the texture and it's nice and sturdy. I took one star off because some of the corners came with small chips on them. Not that big of a deal if you're planning to frame your art, since they'll get covered up, but if you're not framing then it could be an issue.

This is a perfect size surface to paint on and I like the thickness. I extend my painting onto the sides and it looks attractive and even impressive. I didn’t even have to apply gesso before painting which made the process easier and more fun. The price was right as well.

I bought this to use as portable mount for my watercolor paper. Then I can prop this up on something if sitting at a table or on my knees if sitting in a chair or walking around. It keeps the paper flat if I tape around the entire thing. It also makes it easier to rotate it around to paint from different angles. Works great!

Excellent quality. Will probably purchase from Dick Blick in future because they know how to protect vulnerable products with wrapping. Arrived with the corners intact which is a small miracle because protective packaging in the carton was sloppy -- hence the three stars which is entirely on you Amazon packing person. I love this product as do hundreds of other painters, so buck up the protective packaging Amazon!

Das Board hat einen heftigen Transportschaden. Alle Ecken wurden gestaucht. Die Ecke links oben ist besonders beschädigt. Somit hat das Board seine "Museumsqualität" verloren. Für eine wertige Malarbeit ist es nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Angesichts des hohen Preises und der hohen Transportkosten aus den USA hätte ich eine schützendere Verpackung erwartet.

They are smaller than I thought. Although, I’m sure they’re of great quality, but there are almost zero local retailers here in Germany, who offer Ampersand Gesso boards. The cost rises so high with all the shipping costs from Amazon or any other online shop. I wish Ampersand would find a way to offer its products directly to the customers in Germany without shipping costs. It’s expensive enough already. But it’s truly a nice product.

These are some of the best canvasses I've used for doing my airbrushing on, especially doing portriats!

Good quality boards as any ampersand product. Have a slight smooth bumpy texture different from both sanded and unsanded gesso that one typically gets doing it manually. One needs to try it to see if they like it for particular painting medium and style.
