Sentinels of Creation: A Power Renewed Paperback – March 9, 2016

I very much enjoyed this book, in fact, I must admit that I have already read books 1-6 and eagerly await book 7. I found the story itself is exciting and intriguing making it a quite hard to put down. It’s perfect for a rainy day, comfy chair, all day read. Each book left me in anticipation of the next chapter in the Sentinel’s life. There is plenty of action but also lots of humor, and a few moments that will grab your heart strings. The characters are wonderful! As each character is introduced I easily got a complete picture of who this person is. You truly feel like you know these characters. They make you laugh, make you angry, and a few times make you feel deep sorrow. By the end of the book the characters feel like old friends and you’ll certainly want to read on to see what is in store for them next, I know I did. If you really want a treat, listen to the audio books. Nick Podehl is absolutely amazing in his reading of the story and in the way he presents each of the very distinctly different characters in it.

...Its not a perfect, but a gosh darn enjoyable first novel. I'm curious to see how this series plays out over the next couple of books.

This book was fantastic. I love the fast pace and the vivid world created. It’s great because time is not wasted on over explaining the features of a from scratch world. The author builds off many of the stories and mythology most readers are already familiar with. This makes for an easy to consume foundation. The characters are all interesting. Each has a unique quality that makes it easy to empathize with them. I laughed out loud frequently. The authors references to things like Doctor Who shows he is actually a fan, and not just trying to play to what he thinks the readers want to hear. I loved book 1 from the start which is rare for me. I listened to the audio book and Nick Podehl was a fantastic narrator. His voice changes are seamless and appreciated. Now stop reading this and go read or listen to this book!!!

Well written but the author gushes over Apple and Apple products in nearly every single chapter. Also craft beer and upscale restaurants. I imagine the guy as a man bun, capris pants, flannel shirt, with sandals hipster.Don't get me wrong its worth the read (giving it 4 stars), but the incessant Apple praise make me eye roll so hard I nearly went blind.

I experienced Sentinels of Creation via the audio book, though I want to give it a read as well. There is a LOT going on in this story. The plot is very deep in places with much detail in the character's dialog; from anger charged rage to thoughtful reflection and even scientific analysis of complex situations. Though the mood can get very dark at times, there are plenty of sensitive moments between the characters. I am a fan of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, so I appreciate the Urban Fantasy angle that the author has taken with this book. The author has left a few story lines unresolved, so I suspect there will be more to come in a series, which I will look forward to in the near future.

A good story that makes you laugh, makes you hold your breath at times and keep reading because you just have to know what happens next. Looking forward to all the books in this series. My teen daughter just finished this one as well and she thoroughly enjoyed it as much as I did. She made me promise that we'd buy all of titles in the series. She really enjoyed the pop culture references from some of her favorite books, movies and TV shows.

I enjoyed reading this book very much and would recommend it highly to anyone that like twist and surprise with action.

So every year at Dragon Con I try to find one or two new authors who are there trying to get their name out. Sometimes I find a good author who I want to follow and read what they come up with next, and sometimes I don't. I found a stack of small flyers on a table for Robert W Ross, and decided to try his book out. I am glad I did. This is a really fun book to read!Yes, it could be considered a little irreverent to a Christian faith, but he treats the ideology with respect by using the story of creation as a basis for a what if scenario. What if God had an agreement with Satan? Humans were given free will, so their has to be a juxtaposition that influences that choice. How is balance maintained?I am not going to give away any more to the story, as that would dim your enjoyment. I will say, I am eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. Not having read this genre before I was a bit unsure how I would find it...but I was quickly hooked. The characters are likeable and witty and I found myself laughing aloud. I look forward to meeting them in the next books and seeing how this clever adventure develops.

Once started i could not stop reading while listening. I laughed out loud. The banter is a joy. And the action is nonstop, yet Robert builds the characters so well giving them depth and believability. Getting book 2 right now...
