Amazing characterization, brilliant storytelling! I loved it!
One of the things I love best about Mia Sosa’s work is her ability to draw me into each story’s world, allowing me to see and experience life through the eyes of her characters. Through life, love, humor, fun, and authenticity, Sosa manages to capture the essence of what makes her story people tick—and why I should care about what happens to them. Even when they display serious lapses in judgment, there is always something uniquely human lying just beneath the surface, and those genuine glimpses of humanity, of modern-day human difficulties, is what I love the most.In The Worst Best Man, Sosa introduces us to Lina, a wedding planner left at the altar, and Max, the best man who is both responsible for abandonment and related to the groom. As one could imagine, things do not go well when Lina and Max are suddenly thrust together on a job, and yet, they also don’t go as badly as expected. With heart, humor, intelligence, and plenty of passion, Sosa delivers a charming, refreshing, and romantic tale about love, life, family, friendship, and forgiveness. About what it means to finally let go and allow all color of emotions to find their place inside. About acceptance, belonging, and owning who you are and what you want in life, and coming to terms with the idea that what you thought you wanted might not be what you truly need inside. If you’re looking for a delightful story with amazing characters, witty banter, and fun, involving scenes, pick up a copy of The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa. It’s a stellar read, and in my opinion, a masterfully entertaining romance novel.

4 1/2 "Messy, Wicked, Games" Stars!
4 1/2 "Messy, Wicked, Games" Stars!I loved it! It was just about perfect. 2 things kept it from being perfect for me:1. Andrew- Lena's ex/ Max's brother. 😳 He was a complete and total jackass! He made me so freaking mad. I am talking serious immature douchebag! 🤬2. I WANTED MORE! I needed a epilogue for this one. Just a little bit more Lena and Max and this would have absolutely been 5 stars! But! Even without the epilogue, and the jackass ex, this story was just right for me for today. I can hardly believe I'm saying that because I don't usually love enemies to lovers stories. I also don't usually like stories where one of the main characters was with the other main character's sibling. That's usually a no go for me. A little bit eww. However, in this case, I liked both Max and Lena so much and I wanted them together so badly, it didn't bother me. Much. This story was most of all hilarious! I laughed out loud so many times. My son thought I was losing it. 🤣 The story was also sweet with tender vulnerable moments that tugged at the heart. And it had some sexy steamy scenes that may tug at other things... I'd call this one of the best romantic comedies I'd read in a while. If only there was just a wee bit of an epilogue...Ok, so I listened to the audiobook of this one. The story is told from both Lena's and Max's POV and there are duel male and female narrators. Both narrators are very good with their parts, except for the male doing female voice. It was kind of annoying. Otherwise very good. Especially the female narrator. Lena is Brazilian. From a non Portuguese or even Spanish speaking person, the accent she used added richness to the narration and to the story. Keep in mind, I wouldn't really know if it was authentic or not.Happy (listening) reading!

Fresh and funny rom-com
The worst best man is my first book by Mia Sosa. It is a hilarious enemies to lovers romantic comedy about wedding planner Lina and ex-fiancee's brother max and about opening yourself up to a chance at love. Andrew and Max are marketing experts. Andrew, Max, and Lina all got hired by Rebecca Cartwright to help her expand her hotel business. Lina and Max end up partnering up and working together. So they go out on a business lunch where Max realizes he likes Lina. Max decided he was going to shadow Lina on soeat.me wedding assignments to see what she does. They went on a trip to Virginia to go see a wedding venue for a client, and ended up participating in a couples retreat. Lina ended up inviting Max to her cousin Nataia's wedding. In the end, Max and Lina end up together.
