Merrell Men's Ontonagon Peak Mid Wp Walking Shoe

I'm always 7.5 in shoes, boots or whatever. These boots are a snug, comfortable fit. I've not been out for a hike yet. But, looking at some reviews. Some people say they aren't water proof. I might spray them anyway with some water proofing just in case. I did with my last walking boots and they lasted me for years, doing 20 or 30 short hikes a year. So I won't be pushing the boundaries with them. Once they are warmed up by your feet they feel even better.UPDATE. I have found these boots to be very comfortable. I got caught in the rain and my feet stayed dry although the boots looked wet on the outside darker when wet. My feet stayed dry on the inside. They are very warm and I decided to spray them with water proofer just as a protection really. I've only done about 30 miles or so on hill walks. But they feel good and I hope they last.

These are the third pair of Merrell footwear I’ve bought. Two pairs of boots and a pair of shoes. Since finding Merrells I buy no other makes for when we go out for walking any kind of distance. They are light, comfortable, strong and well made. They also fit well, I always buy one size larger for walking boots because of the thicker walking socks. I have bought other makes before, but they’ve always been heavy and stiff, whereas these are not. These ones were also a very good price. What’s not to like.

I've tried cheaper products and got wet feet before so this time I thought I would spend the money and go for a reputable brand. First impressions were excellent. Probably the most comfortable walking shoe I have every warn however, 3 weeks after they arrived, I started getting wet feet whilst taking the dog a walk. Not what you expect from Merrell having paid the best part of £100 for a WATERPROOF boot. It is not as though I was wading through long grass or puddles. This was in the local park 2 days after the grass had been mown! Basically they leaked between the upper and the sole. See the pic - this is after 10 minutes in wet grass - it wasn't even raining! I've sent them back - still waiting my refund!! Clearly not impressed at all.

So comfortable. Always get a half a size up. My boyfriend is a size 9 and I got 9.5 who has fits perfectly

Lightweight and waterproof, the boots fit like kid gloves from the get go, so comfortable to wear. The soles aren’t great on wet ground, a bit slippy, but otherwise a fantastic buy.

Worn them once so far. Fit is good, comfort good, light in weight, good grip.
