Rainbow Six

Clark and Ding do their thing.
It’s a Tom Clancy, what else do i say? This is over 800 pages, with action from the word go (I’m not going to give you spoilers). many of the usual Ryanverse characters are in there being true to how far their roles have moved on, this is a long way through the novel. Not his best work, and perhaps trying a little too hard, once or twice explains something already explained and I managed to guess a plot twist a little earlier than I should have, but let’s face it I started reading Clancy 30 years ago and I’m still taking them on holiday with me. One last point The “sticker” says Jack Ryan, But where is he?

Perfect escapism.
I enjoyed the start and part of the middle of this book but as the plot became more convoluted I found myself beginning to struggle. I also was not wholly satisfied by what I felt was a bit of a let down of an ending. That said it fills in for me more of the backstory of John Clark prior to his joining The Campus in later books.

Special Forces Fiction at its best
Bought to replace my old copy that got eaten by bookworms..Possibly Tom Clancys best work, rainbow six follows the creation and operation of the worlds most elite/secretive fighting unit - Rainbow! It’s tense, descriptive, and well written.Highly recomended
