GiroHelios Spherical MIPS Cycling Helmet

Like all Giro helmets I've tried on, this fits exceptionally well. Although I like the inclusion of the ball and socket MIPS, I do not have any interest in testing if it works better than the more "traditional" MIPS insert that is on older or less expensive helmets. What I do like about the ball and socket design is that it feels much more like you are tightening the EPP to your head instead of just tightening the liner which leads to a more secure feeling fit. Price is higher than I would want to spend, but better to invest in a helmet than almost any other piece of cycling equipment.

Good looking, perfect finishing and high quality. It is a little heavier than previous Aeon, Ionos and Atmos, probably because of improved safety features (Spherical + MIPS). And that is why we use helmet in the first place :-)

Was cycling in the rain two days ago and my I flew over my handlebars into a fence post and this helmet did an AWESOME job of absorbing the brunt of the impact. I'm very grateful and my worse injury was a scraped knee. This is a great helmet!!!

Wanting a black helmet, but with visibility in mind, I compared a Kask Protone with red accent and Giro Helios Spherical with red and white accents. The Giro was lighter, even minimalist, with scant padding and light straps and fastener. It was returned because the white paint extended across intersecting members, not as shown online, made me look like I had antlers, and because the buckle was very hard to snap and unsnap. The Kask was more helmet with thicker padding, better rear protection, heavier straps and smooth working buckle, though not mips. The faux leather strap is overkill and hard to adjust. The forehead pad is too thick for my head size and even with adjustment all the way out makes the fit a little tight. The Lazer G1 mips I'm looking is solid black but has approximate lightness of Giro but nicer pads and straps and though the buckle is not as nice as Kask, it's better than Giro's. Probably less of a problem after some use. Maybe I can paint some red on the side.

The Giro Helios Spherical is a very good helmet, lightweight, adjustable, latest safety features (MIPS) for best head protection, and a very comfortable fit (no hair snags) for short or long rides. Pricey but worth it for the extra safety and easy adjustability. Highly recommended.

One of the best road cycling helmets I have owned so far! The technology appears good, and now am torn between bontrager wavecel specter and the giro Helios spherical…own both of them. This is definitely lighter, more aerodynamic and offers more airflow.

The helmet fits great, it’s probably the lowest profile helmet that I’ve found. Unfortunately the color was not what was pictured on Amazon. The helmet I received had white and black stripes on it. Those were not in the picture and they look terrible. Way too expensive to look ugly, sent it back.

I've had Giro helmets for nearly 20 years and this one is the best. Breaths great, feels light on your hear despite all the safety features and the straps secure well. The system dials in well holding very steady on your head.
