It works effectively and I much prefer it to a traditional lighter. Quicker, easier and safer.A few downsides... the "flame" is small, it fits a tea light candle wick in it, but larger candle wicks don't fit between (it still lights them, just from an angle which isn't instant like with smaller objects). The charging cable is ridiculously short, especially for a product which sets things on fire - I'll be using another longer lead so I can safely place it on a surface opposed to dangling from a socket. The battery also doesn't last too long. Perhaps it's wasn't properly charged upon delivery, but I've only managed to light 5 candles and it's on the last light bar of charge left.

Really useful product that I don’t have to worry about running out or refilling, I’ve bought a second one as a gift. The packaging it comes in is a really nice box (perfect for a gift), looks very smart to store the lighter in when not in use BUT there was a big sticky label on the front and when peeled off took the top layer of the box with it. Seems pretty pointless to package it in a fancy box that gets ruined as soon as you open the product.Also the zappy noise it makes when lighting a candle is quite loud and not nice.

I find this gadget much better than matches for lighting candles, plus I don't have to keep buying matches. It's lightweight and slim in design, has a long battery life and charges up quickly. I can recommend this product.

First let me list the positives:The lighter works properly and gives a visible flame/beam and it does its job. Its very easy to use and it has a simple charging system. Really easy to light things without your hand being too close to it and it came in simple packaging..... But the charge lasts for a really short amount of time and it take really long for candles or anything to catch fire. the beam/light is so small and its hard to even do anything. I feel like its just easier to buy a normal lighter its much less of a fuss.

Wish i bought one of these earlier - it's simply great. i have to charge it on a fair few occasions but lights my candles well.

I have been using this for the last 2 days and am very happy with it. I was tired of using matches and those refillable lighters. This is an elegant lighter for candles, fireplaces and grills. I have been using it on a single charge since I got it and so far it looks like it will light up several hundred times between recharge. High quality and beautiful in its simplicity. Well functioning and that's everything you need from a lighter.

This product is awful! It takes about 20 seconds to light a Joss-stick & (with the one I have) need to tap it on a table to get it to spark again & mine failed after about 5 weeks! CRAP - just get a lighter or matches.

Can’t comment on battery life as only just started using it but this product is AMAZING!! For tall encased candles, means you don’t need to burn your fingers to light it. Gave this as a gift to my mum as well and she loved it!
