EBL AA Battery Charger, 16 Bay Batteries Charger with 1-Hour Fast Charging with LCD Display and AC Plug Cable for AA AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries

I have been using a different model of EBL battery charger for years now. My old model only charges up to 4 batteries at once. and it typically takes a couple of hours or so to do this. Eventually one of the 4 ports stopped working, so now only 3 of 4 ports work. Although it is still a pretty good charger, I wanted an even better model, and this unit seems to be just that. Besides the 16 battery capacity, it seems to charge the batteries faster than my old model does, which is a plus. I've only had this new unit for a couple of weeks, but so far it appears to be a very good charger. I hate wasting money on regular batteries; they last a little while, then die & you buy more. Not to my liking. I would rather buy a good charger and use only rechargeable batteries. Try one today & save some money!

excellent product charges batteries very quickly

I bought an earlier EBL charger for up to 8 AA/AAA batteries and while it worked, it took its time and required batteries to charge in pairs.I’ve been eyeing this charger and finally pulled the trigger and bought it. And..I’m soooo glad I did.This thing works great and the extra capacity helped me took off and charge my sets of AA/AAA’s so much more efficiently than before.For reference I have a couple dozen each EBL rechargeable batteries (40 or so).Bottom line: It’s worth it.

I have close to 200 Eneloop AA/AAA's that get recharged in batches. Using the Panasonic factory 4-slot chargers has been tedious, needing to use banks of them back to back. I was eager when I found this EBL 16 port charger, which would be far more convenient. I have a different EBL multi-battery charger that charge EBL and Amazon Basics C batteries well, so I had high expectations of this AA/AAA charger.At first I thought it was charging the Eneloop batteries quickly and to capacity. It would even resurrect some Eneloops gone bad that would no longer charge on the Panasonic charger. But I later noticed that the charged batteries would not last as long. When I put a battery meter to the EBL charged batteries, it would show a partial charge. If I put them back in the EBL charger, it would show a full charge. If I then put them in the Panasonic charger, they would charge for 4-5 more hours to full capacity and last the expected duration of use.The EBL charger does charge the Eneloops but not to full capacity, and it doesn't seem to measure the charged capacity of the Eneloops accurately. This is consistent across over 100 Eneloops from different years. I didn't have other brand AA/AAA's to test.There is at least 1 review from someone who said Eneloops are charged well. I can't recommend this product for Eneloops, and if you get it, I do recommend verifying right away that the batteries get fully charged. Unfortunately by the time I figured this out, it was long past the return cutoff date.

I bought this charger because I sometimes need to charge more than 8 batteries at a time, which my previous charger did perfectly. So far, it appears that this charger will take a fully-drained NiMH battery and charge it to full in about an hour. This is with 4 batteries being charged. I haven't yet tested it with a full set of 16.What worries me is that I see no indication of a trickle charge once the battery gets to 90% as indicated in the description. This is why I'm not giving it 5 stars. The batteries I've charged have not gotten hot, so it doesn't yet seem to be an issue. I just wish there was an indicator on the LCD to let me know if/when it's in the trickle-charge portion of the process.There is also no "refresh" mode, which would drain the batteries before charging them. My previous charger had this, although it's not something I've really used, so no big deal here.Essentially, this is the perfect charger when you have a lot of batteries to recharge, and you need to use them again quickly.UPDATE (7/31/2022): Just had a need to charge 24 batteries at the same time, so this one was full plus I had my previous charger working as well. Not only did this unit charge the batteries quicker, they were cooler at the end than those in my previous charger. Will definitely buy this again if the need arises.
