My first pentair pump only lasted 4 years so I bought the same unit for $389.00 it ran great all summer stored it in my house for the winter just opened up the pool turn on the pump what do you know the pump died after 1 year so I took a chance bought this dohenys 1hp hook it up I only had to change one fitting the white one on the hose to fit this pump runs real quiet seems to me it’s pumping more water than the expensive pentair so I would recommend this pump over any pentair or hayword pump

I needed a new pump for my above ground pool. I didn't want the same brand I had before, as it lasted only 3 years. So I figured I'd try this one. Install was a breeze as it was a direct fit, and it seems to be very well built. Time will tell if I will get more than 3 years out of it!

This pump works very well and seems to run a bit quieter than my previous pump. It was easy to hook up the hoses. Because there is no on/off switch on the unit, it has to be unplugged/plugged in. One issue we found in emptying the debris basket: we closed the filter valve and had to remove the hose coming in from the skimmer, because the sealing ring on the basket cap would be forced out and not seal. That is the only issue we have had.

We bought this to replace our Hayward Powerflo LX pump, which is $369 brand new. And honestly, I like this one better. We often have backflow problems when vacuuming the pool, which requires removing the skimmer cap. This one is SO MUCH EASIER to remove. I’d often times have to use the handle of channel locks to get the Hayward one off.NOTE: If you are replacing a Hayward or other pump that has a prong L5-20P plug, you are going to need an adapter (pictures attached).

My original pump broke end of last season. Bought this one to open my pool this season. Runs like a champ and is quiet compared to my old one
