Can Calico Critters hold objects? I'm noticing that some have their thumb separate while others don't. Can you shove objects between fingers?

Epoch makes open hands on all new calico critters to make them consistent with the rest of the worlds. You may find the closed hand critters on secondary market or places that haven't sold their earlier versions. With that said, it is not overly easy to have hands hold items and only some items work in hands. Epoch and a lot of critter ppl use poster putty when wanting critters to hold something. Super easy and putty easily comes off the paws. Critters are open-ended toys which promote numerous benefits to kids. The smallest babies and the sit or crawl babies don't have jointed limbs. Standing babies on up thru grandparents are fully jointed.
