Great thread and gorgeous colours
The media could not be loaded. I've previously bought and successfully used Simthread threads for embroidery work so thought I would give it a go with the new Metallic Threads that have been added to their product line up.The first design, some lacy butterflies, didn't fare too well on the stitch out. There were small amounts of shredding and some breakages and, having followed the instruction leaflet (included in the box along with a couple of spare bobbins and some thread nets), I was both surprised and disappointed. However, decided to have another go making some minor adjustments along the way.Initially the machine was threaded in the normal manner so the first change was to use my off machine spool stand which showed better success but not enough for my liking. Not being one to give up easily I made several other minor alterations with some improvement along the way.Having altered the thread tension to 0.6 (yes, below 1) I started to think along other lines. Rather than using cotton fabric I changed to polycotton which has a more open weave - still not a good result. There had to be another cause that I was somehow missing. Decided to try again in the morning - fresh day, fresh thoughts.Morning arrived and in an effort not to be beaten, I changed two things, the design and the position of the spool holder. I don't know why, maybe it had come to me whilst I was dreaming. Hooray!! success was achieved. The uploaded photo's show the machine settings that work well on my Janome along with the successful design stitch out but more interesting is the video which shows the change made in the threading path. This was the key to getting it right.Apologies for the length of this review but to save anyone else experiencing frustration the end result is worth it. The metallic threads are fantastic and photo's really don't do them justice. I've bought threads from other suppliers in the past but have found that the quality, price and after sales service from Simthread are second to none. Let's hope it won't be long before additional colours are added to the selection.I am now running down my stock of threads from other suppliers and will happily use Simthread for all my embroidery threads in future. Check out the range on their Amazon store.

Finally metallic threads that work.
The media could not be loaded. All of my machine embroidery threads are Simthread. So when these new style metallic threads came to the UK I had to add them to my ever growing collection containing plain, variegated, metallic and glow in the dark.Right from opening the box and removing the sleeves I was impressed with the colour tones and the shine and super excited to give them a try and test just how good the new Japanese manufacturing technology was.The first test I did was just a plain wrap around my fingers and pull, just to see how strong it is and while not as strong as the normal threads (as you'd expect) they are stronger than the old style metallic threads.I'm not able to reduce the speed of my machine so the 3 designs I tested these threads out on where completely at the feet of the embroidery gods and goddesses. I did changed the needle to a top stitch needle (as recommended). I left alone my top and bottom tension and I placed the spool on a triple thread stand that stands to the side of my machine.Next test was to stitch out the balloons (I tried to upload the other videos of this but it kept failing). I must admit I did stay with my machine as I expected at least 1 snap somewhere in the design but no, nothing, no snaps, shredding or snagging. Perfect.I then went on to stitch out the bohemian draped branch and crescent moon. The one video I was permitted to upload is of part of the draped branch being stitched at full speed and again no snapped or shredded thread, like you do get with some metallic threads, and I'm confident that I could walk away from my machine while it's stitching and return knowing that it would complete that section of a design with no problems.Overall I am really impressed with this box of 10 metallic threads and will definitely be adding more to my collection.

Easy to use
The media could not be loaded. Received my box of coloured metallic thread, I already have the gold and silver ones. Have only used three of the colours the gold and darker blue stitched really well with no issues. The paler blue did break a couple of times but each time it was after about 2,500 stitches so no real problem. I was using them to stitch an FSL project so was quite dense.Overall happy with the results.

Simthread Metallic threads are FANTASTIC to work with
If you are looking for AWESOME metallic threads look no further than Simthread Metallics these are the threads to buy. The colours are brilliant and the delivery is fast.I am extremely impressed with Simthread metallic thread. They embroidered out perfectly without breaking or shredding. My ‘Brother’ can be a little temperamental at times particularly when I want my embroidery to shine with metallic thread, but this thread stitched out perfectly and I would highly recommend it. Now I know how good Simthread Metallics are I will be buying the 32 colours, really can a girl ever have too much sparkle in her embroidery??

Beautiful sparkle and easy to use
I was wary of trying metallic thread after reading scare stories but these stitch out great. I followed the instructions inside the box to use a larger eyed needle and slowed down my machine and they behaved perfectly in the design I tried. The pictures dont do the sparkle in these colours justice they really catch the light. If I had to criticise in some way my only thing would be that the 2 paler blue shades are very similar but other than that the colours included are great. I would definitely recommend these and I'm no longer frightened of metallic thread 😁

Simthread metallic thread
The media could not be loaded. I tried the colored metallic thread from Simthread and I'm love it. I received the package with the colored metallic thread, with some surprises inside, 2 empty bobbins and 2 thread nets and a flyer how to use.Did what they said on flyer, lower speed, used Topstitch needle 90/14 and the result is fantastic, no breakage, very fibrant metallic color. I highly recommend this product, the metallic thread from Simthread.Good product value for your money!

Casse facilement
J'ai de la difficulté avec ce fil métallique. J'en utilise une autre marque sans problème mais ceux-ci sont difficiles à utiliser, trop fragiles

Fabulous colors of metallic thread
This is some really nice thread! The colors are vibrant, the metallic gives it nice little flashes of almost sparkle depending on how the light hits the thread as the eye of the object moves. I followed the included instructions to use a specialized metallic thread needle and slowed my machine to 500 spm. Simthread included 2 long spool socks and 2 bobbins. Always a nice touch to get extras. I would suggest that they include 5 of those socks to be cut in half as this thread, due to it's metallic nature, does unravel from the spool more readily than regular thread. All in all I am very pleased. The metallic accents are even visible in my tiny design that is all of 1.75"x3" in total but the elements are are all smaller than a dime! And I had no breakage.

Loved my first attempt with metallic thread!
The media could not be loaded. The Simthread Metallic 10 count was a great buy for a beautiful selection of colors. This was my first attempt using metallic thread, so I was careful to prepare ahead with some research on the topic. I used a Schmetz 80/12 “Metallic” needle & slowed my machine speed as suggested. Everything went quite smoothly. I experienced some breakage with the color red, but all other colors sewed beautifully without any problems. I look forward to using these metallic threads on my upcoming holiday projects!
