Very Nice (Unless You Have Narrow Feet); There's A Good Reason Why These Do Not Have Steel Toes!
This is a "cut and paste" of the review I did on the Reebok "high boot" version (Reebok Men's Rapid Response RB8895 Safety Boot). Having tried both, the comments equally apply. Here goes....These boots are really, really nice and very comfortable. I wasn't sure if I would like the side zipper, but it works well. The "pull-on" loop on the back is helpful. But if you have narrow feet you will find your feet swim in the forefoot unless you "pad" with additional (or thick) socks. If Reebok would make a "narrow" version (these "medium width" boots felt very much like "wide" boots), then we would have a SIX-star review. I've found that the 5.11 Men's 6" Taclite Boot is a better fit for my narrow feet (they are equally as comfortable, but lack the zipper). Size of these Reebok boots is about 1/2 size big (I wear size 11, but needed a 10.5 in the Reeboks (the 5.11 Taclite boots ran true: I wear 11 and the boots were an 11)).The zipper makes all the difference in what boot lace-up system is used. You'll note that the 5.11 Taclite boots use eyelets in the fabric while the Reeboks use plastic eyelets. If the Reeboks didn't have the zipper I would not ever touch them because the plastic eyelets are a highly possible point of failure. Given that most will lace up the Rebooks and leave them laced (using the zipper to take off and put on the boot) this is not too much of an issue (ergo, no plastic eyelets on the 5.11 Taclite boots). One other observation. Reviewers have complained that there is no steel toe but that the boots are advertised as safety boots. This is neither misleading nor incorrect. Yes, they are safety boots and yes they do not have a steel toe. But the product literature tells you that Reebok chose to not use steel so that there would be no issue with metal detectors, etc. In any event, the toe may not be steel, but it still seems to offer significant protection. In the end, if you're a lumberjack or the like and need real steel toe protection then these are not the boots for you. But if you are a soldier (etc.) these are perfect boots (and as a former armored vehicle crewman I can tell you not having steel toes is a plus: I remember having a pair of steel-toed boots and they helped my feet to freeze in the winter and roast in the summer).Reebok has done really, really well in these boots. If only they would make a narrow foot version!

Very nice, high quality desert/hiking/work boots
These are EXACTLY the boots that I was wanting to get for a couple of years now. The color is the exact color that I wanted, not too light, not too dark. I have almost this exact boot, except the other one I have was made by Converse and is sage green, but they were bought out by Reebok. Now, I can see that the quality has not changed, and the only difference now is the brand name: Reebok (now) vs Converse. I was worried at first that I had ordered the wrong width (wide), because my converse model is a 10 (M), and that one fits just right. But when I tried these on, they fit perfectly, just a tiny bit on the loose side, but that's fine, because it allows for better air circulation. As other reviewers have noted, the tongue of the shoe is just a little too thick, but otherwise that is the only drawback that I can tell. Another reviewer suggested that the zipper be placed more to the front, but I've had no problem getting the boots on with the zipper's current location. I very rarely get compliments while wearing boots/shoes, but I have received compliments on these. I cannot vouch for the durability of these boots as of yet, and so will edit my review in a year's time.Pros:*Aggressive styling*High quality, smooth, nubuck leather*Soles designed for grip on slippery surfaces*Composite toe protection (not steel), which makes this boot airport friendly as it says on the tag*Easy to put on and take off due to the location of the zipper*Very comfortable to wear for long periods*Stiffness of the boots enhances ankle support making this great for hiking*High quality FLAT laces - keeps the laces from being untied unlike other boots with round laces, so I'm not constantly having to tie my boots over and over againCons:*Tongue of boot is a bit large, especially at the top of the boot*Fits slightly large*Very Stiff, Takes a good period of breaking in - almost like wearing a ski boot*Could have a little better cusioningIf these boots are as good as my Converse ones, then I would definitely buy again. But we will see how well these hold up in a year's time.

Bonded Leather Boot. Minor bump scuffed off the top layer of bonded leather.
For $140 it should come with much more durable leather. The bonded leather used in this boot is made of ground up leather scraps mixed with glue. It doesn't last. I bumped these boots on the tire of a garden tractor. I was amazed that it scuffed off almost half the thickness of the leather. This is as durable as a wet paper towel. I hope the composite toe is made better.*ONE MONTH OF WEARING REVIEW*One thing I will say is that the boots are comfortable. But, as I said, they are as durable as a wet paper towel. I'm a retired firefighter. I've spent a lot of time in side zipper "station boots" as we call the boots we wear while working around the station. I know what a good boot is. This side zip is annoying and isn't worth unzipping. I don't know how they did it but the boots are just as difficult to get on zipped or unzipped. It's like the zipper is strategically place in the most useless position, plus the Velcro zipper cover is in the perfect place to catch your sock as you're putting them on. I'm really disappointed in Reebok. As another reviewer said, the boots look years old after just a couple of months. Another reviewer said he was going back to his 5.11 brand boots. That brand is used by LOTS of firefighters and police officers. I would recommend checking them out.
