Great locked cabinet for the money
My Stack-On came as described in other reviews, strapped on a pallet. Straps removed, I was easily able to unbox it without issue. My experience showed my cabinet to be totally undamaged, but other reviews showed some dents and dings. YMMV. It has a goodly amount of plastic wrapped foam corner protectors all around and had instructions that were easy to follow. Installing the shelves was modestly difficult for a loner to install, but a helper would make it easy-peasy and take only a half hour or less. Once the shelves are installed the only other question is whether or not to anchor it in place. It comes with anchors for that, so you choose. As to storage space, this thing is plenty big for my needs, stores thousands of rounds of ammo with ease. The shelves are strong and reinforced, so you shouldn't have any problems. The lock is solid and strong for its purpose--it's NOT a safe. Don't let anyone tell you differently. It's a locked storage cabinet. If you want a safe, look to gun safes or you will be disappointed!!! The lock is not to keep determined thieves out, don't expect that. No lock will do that! I read other reviews that complain it could be opened with a crowbar, but suspect you will have to destroy the cabinet in the process. Locked cabinets of this type and cabinets with padlocks on them are not intended to keep determined thieves out--they only keep honest people honest. Don't even try to think of it any other way.

"THE SAFE WORKS GOOD NOW" BUT IT IS NOT A GOOD LOOKING SHOW SAFE !
THE AMMO SAFE WAS A MESS WHEN IT GOT HERE, THE BOX WAS IN GOOD SHAPE , THAT MENT IT WAS MESSED UP BEFORE SHIPPING. HAD TO BUY GOOD SPRING LOADED PINS . THE OTHER PINS WERE BROKE THATS WHY THE DOOR WAS OFF WHEN IT GOT HERE . I BELIEVE THE OLD PINS WERE BROKE TRYING TO PUT THE DOOR ON THE SAFE, I BELIEVE THE DOOR AND SAFE WERE NOT A PERFECT MATCH. IT TOOK A LOT OF REFITING TO GET THE DOOR BACK ON. HAD TO DO IT ALL MYSELF , NO HELP FROM ANYONE !!!!!!! ANDY

It is an Ammo Storage Unit after all
This Stack-On box is a nice product. It will do what it is designed for. A fun project to put together for one person to put the shelving in. You need long arms to get around the door to tighten the nuts on the bolts and hold the bolt in place on the other side. About 20 minutes to get the shelving in place. You will probably scratch the inside a bit getting the shelving in, but who cares. No one will notice. I agree with other reviewers. They could add more padding strips along the sides during shipping. As others have said. Mine showed up with a couple dents in the sides and a metal bend along the top. Yeah, you would like a nice-looking box, but you did not buy this to look pretty. After all. It is an ammo storage unit. Not a nice-looking gun safe like a Fort Knox. I was looking at another vendor. It was a safe quality safe. You can double this price. But after adding shipping. It doubled that price. So unfortunately for that company, I did not get theirs. After I thought about it. All I wanted was to get the ammo out of my gun safe for more gun storage and this will do it. Thanks Stack-On. Except for the shipping dents. :-)

You Get What You Pay For
The Stack On unit came with dents all over the place that I had to beat out with a hammer. It's extremely flimsy, thin walled compared to the Liberty Safe Ammo Can which I own two of. It's not carpeted, you have to screw in the shelves which are thin metal. The ground anchor holes are not recessed like the Liberty. Now I see why Stack On cost about half as much as a does, there's a nite and day difference. Goes back to the old adage, "You get what you pay for".

Awesome cabinet
Very very well made, very strong. This cabinet is no joke. The whole cabinet is one piece plus the door. Not a bunch of thin flat panels you have to bolt together. Some minor assembly required, just the shelves. I was impressed with the quality of the cabinet. Everything was squared up perfectly. The door opens and closes with ease, doesn't hang up at all. I like the 3 point locking system. I'm not going to say how many rounds of ammo I have but lets just say it holds A LOT.Mine arrived with zero damage. Some people complained about shipping damage. That is always a risk when getting something like this shipped. The company sent an email prior to shipping saying to NOT accept it if the package was damaged and how to get replacement parts if there was damage after opening. It came on a small pallet and I think that's why there was no damage. That keeps the freight carriers from laying it down. Also, it arrived with in a week of ordering as opposed to the estimated 2-4 weeks.I'm thinking about buying another one just for a second lockable cabinet for "stuff".

Awful, just awful
This cabinet comes without the shelves attached. It is extremely difficult to get them screwed in and required 2 people with a lot of patience. Also, the locking mechanism is very cheap, and even more stiff. This makes the cabinet very hard to open, as there isn't nearly enough torque from just turning the key to move the whole locking assembly behind the door easily. I now live in fear that I won't be able to get the cabinet open, every time I want to access it, and that one day the locking mechanism won't work, and I'll only be able to get the cabinet open with a crowbar, thus destroying it. Very, very poor design. Great in theory, extraordinarily dismal performance in actual application.I deeply regret my purchase, and I wish I'd spent a bit more money to simply buy a safe in which to store my items.
