Bought this a while back, didn't use until yesterday. I have allergies, so car windows are closed in Spring.I picked up from vehicle from the service department only to smell oil, upon entering the car. I was tired & wanted to go home & we all know complain & you'llsit for a few more hours. The package was in the car, so I opened it, got it over the steering wheel and left it hanging all evening & night and in the morning smell of oil is gone. Now i just have to get my mats washed. Will be purchasing again (I have a college student).

I was very skeptical about this Car Air Freshener. I have spent hundreds of dollars on many products that claim to rid vehicles of odors, especially smoke odors. I have quite a few smokers in my family, and friends that smoke as well. I have learned over the years to never use the ashtrays in cars, and I buy the self extinguishing ashtrays that sit in the cup holders....like this one - Roadpro X-Large Self-Extinguishing Ashtray - Roadpro RP-452L....or the short ones. With these ashtrays, you can empty them every day and the ashes/butts are not left in the car's ashtray. These ashtrays work, but you can still smell smoke. My husband bought me one of those little air fresheners you stick in the vent...and it smelled really good but it was very overpowering....and I love strong scents.So I saw This Purggo Freshener and decided to give it a try. I took it out of the package and put it in my car immediately. I live in Central Texas where it has been over 100 degrees for well over a month...with the Heat Index over 110 degrees. Every day. To me...everything stinks worse when it's hot. So between the smoke smell...and dog smells and just everyday smells...my car stinks REALLY bad!I had to get new tires on my car the next day....and I didn't tell me husband about the new Purggo that I hung behind my drivers seat head rest. You can't really see it because my interior is the same Charcoal color of the Purggo....and because the seats in my car are fairly tall <I have a Dodge Charger> and my windows are tinted Limo dark.The Purggo works SO WELL that he didn't even smell the Glad Vent freshener he put in there. He asked me if I took it down, and I pointed to it stuck in my vent. He thought something was wrong with it because he definitely didn't smell it.I showed him the Purggo and told him what it is and what is is supposed to do and that I had put it in the car the day before. He asked me to get him one, so I did just that.I took all the other air fresheners out of my car because this Purggo works so well that you can't smell ANYthing!! There's no smell whatsoever. If you want to put a nice smelly in your car with the Purggo....you'll be wasting your money. Unless you take the Purggo out for a few days and hang a freshener up. But then if you/anyone smokes in your car it will stink again.Bottom Line - this things does exactly as it says - it takes ALL the smells out of your vehicle. As for how long it will work, I've only had mine for a week so I will post updates every few months....good or bad.Would I recommend? ABSOLUTELY! It is a bit pricey...but if I don't have to spend any more money to get rid of the smells...I think this Purggo Air Freshener is worth every penny!

It has lessened the food and fart smells in the truck, but does nothing for the cigarette smell.

This thing is amazing. It's more expensive than a regular car air freshener. But considering it ELIMINATES odors instead of trying to overpower an odor...take my money. Really it's not that expensive in the long run. If I replaced a car air freshener like the ones that try to overpower an odor every month - I'm sure I would have spent way more money over 16 months compared to just buying this. Be aware - it wipes out all odors. So if you try to put some nice smelling air freshener in with this - it will eliminate that odor too. I'm writing this review then buying another one to put in another car I have that sits most of the time.

Well made and looks nice in car, but unfortunately it really hasn't seemed to make a difference after about a month in the car. Disappointed; I read so many positive reviews. Was trying to rid the car of some lingering car odors from previous owner.

Bought this after looking at car vent air fresheners to help with the weed smell as I enjoy smoking and driving. The air fresheners would mask the smell for about a week but this worked better than any air freshener could. I got my package before work and got to work at 5pm, had smoked on the way(30 min drive) so the smoke smell was present even after rolling windows down. Decided to “test” the Purgo and see if the smell was removed by the time my shift ended at 5am. Returned to my car with no hint of any smoke smell and really no smell at all. Was very surprised and very satisfied with the way it did not smell like I smoked at all. Would recommend to anyone who wants their car to smell neutral. I believe air freshener scents are also removed by this so by recommendation from reviews, if you want a smell to stay in your car you will have to remove the purgo. Overall love this and for the price, this is well worth it, as far as reliability, it seems to have good quality cloth so it doesn’t seem easy to rip.

I deliver seafood in my vehicle and the charcoal and bamboo blend absorbs the smell in my vehicleRecharge in the sun a few hours and back in the vehicle it goes.
