Another Awesome light from Finnex
The media could not be loaded. I've been a big fan of Finnex for several years and while I still compare other lights when prepping new tanks, I still go for the Finnex for the overall quality and price. I was surprised at how thin this light was compared to the other similar Finnex models and wasnt sure if it would be enough coverage from front to back for a 22" gallon tank. It's a pretty simple setup and I love that the older Planted+ remotes work with all the Planted+ lights. I dont have to have 3 remotes for each light since I currently have 3 tanks with Finnex Planted+ lights running. The sleek, clean and contemporary design is a big win and after 2 months of running the 36" ALC, the light has proven to be another awesome value at a competitive cost without overspending for bells and whistles like apps I would probably only use once during initial set-up. I try to automate my tanks as much as possible, so I'm not sure why I would need to continuously change the lighting with an app. In comparing the Fluval Plant 3.0, it seemed like an unnecessarily expensive add on app that I would rarely ever use after initial set-up. Being since I've used Finnex for years, I've come to trust the build quality and its functionality as well. I love being able to program the color temp for sunrise and sunset and the time of full bright white light for mid-day sun. I've programmed two of my Planted+ 24/7 lights to simultaneously cycle through similar color temps throughout the day and ending the evening with 'moonlight' colors with the Blue blue LEDs and a bit of red to watch the cherry red shrimp and fish glow vibrant at night until lights go out completely.I have several FugeRay Planted+ Clip lights for my nano cube tanks and my only ask is that the Planted+ Clip light be upgraded with the updated functionality as the Planted+ 24/7 ALC light. The ALC Planted+ is a stunningly powerful light with beautiful customizable color temps.

Worth every penny
Bought the 24" to try out on my 20g aquarium, and I'll definitely be getting a couple of the 48" for my 150g paludarium now. This light is fantastic. I don't understand why there are so many reviews saying it's hard to set up, mine came with a quick start guide that had me running my nearly perfect 24 hour schedule in 10 minutes. I didn't care for the stock program, so I set up my own. 6am 10% blue/green, 9am/12pm/3pm/6pm full bright white/red, 9pm 10% red/green/blue, 12am/3am total dark. Super easy to set up, gets very bright, and has an amazingly smooth transition. I don't much like the remote, but I shouldn't need to mess with it again unless there's a power outage. As with any product, there is room for improvement. Most importantly, I wish it had a battery backup for the settings. Power outages are generally an unexpected thing, and I'd be nervous about being away from the tank on vacation or whatever in case of that. I'd hate to come home and find my plants dead because an outage wiped my settings. I'll probably get a cheap backup light just good enough to sustain my plants and put it on a mechanical timer matched to full brightness on my Finnex. Won't be noticeable if the Finnex is working properly, but it'll save my plants if something goes wrong. Other than that, all I'd like to see is a Bluetooth app with hourly or even half hourly schedule control and 1% control over the brightness levels, instead of 3hr and 10% increments. The option to set multiple seasonal schedules would be cool too.

A very good light but the automatic 24/7 feature is not very good
A very good light but the automatic 24/7 feature is not very good. However, you can customize it, so if you are willing to take the time, you can make it much more appropriate for a planted tank. The remote and all the programmable features come with a significant learning curve, but they work. For use on a timer, just on or off, they are excellent, and plants grow like crazy. I have also succeeded in making a slightly dimmer memory setting for 3 of my tanks and it remembers that setting with each turn-on. All the memory is stored in the light, not the remote. I do wish the remotes were "keyed" so that when I change something, all the Finnex lights in the room wouldn't respond at once. I have to cup my hand between the remote and the light I want to adjust, or turn the others off when programming them. Overall, a good light.

Good bang for the buck
The ALC version is the best as far as the Finnex planted series for Par rating . For the price Your not going to get a better light that is programmable. But their are limitations lest say I wanted the 12am to 3pm to be off, that is doable , but the 3am to 6am slot is not because for some reason at 5am the light will come on no matter what You set , PERIOD .Next , back to the par , at best on my 18 inch deep tank it is barely able to keep my low growing plants alive . Now if Your tank is shorter maybe it will do . I am definitely going to have to upgrade . My plants that have reached to mid level in the tank are showing signs of growth with even some red leaves showing . Proving my point that , while this is a bright light, par is just not their at lower levelsNow to the light , this is bright , so much to the point of washing out the reds, and the greens, . You can adjust the level but I suspect You will lower par in the process.Final Thought Finnex needs to Up their game , time to start thinking about a 24/7 Planted plus Pro edition . Dump the time slots and add a real time clock , start thinking of upping the wattage to the 50-75or even 100 watt watt range instead of a paltry 36 watt . double the leds. Dump the old school remote for a Bluetooth app it is 2022 not 1995 . The tech is their time to use it . Also make this waterproofAre You listing Finnex ??
