Earth Intrepid

I have severe plantar fasciitis and extremely wide feet. In addition, my right foot is nearly a full size larger than my left. You can just imagine the fun I have trying to find shoes that look good, fit well, and don't cause discomfort. I needed a professional style that could be worn to work, and I knew I wanted an open-toe style, which tends to be more comfortable than closed-toe styles. Furthermore, I wanted something that could cross the seasons, so I ordered the black suede. It looks great with tights, pantyhose or bare legs. Finally, I wanted a fashionable orthotic shoe that didn't look like something my grandmother would wear.This little bootie is a winner on every count. It's a nice, comfortable width at the instep, with plenty of room for the toes, while the ankle strap holds the shoe firmly in place. The heel is exactly the right height to hold the foot and calf in a comfortable position, and the rubber sole adds traction, shock absorption and flexibility. There's a nice padded footbed as well. It says a lot that after a very long day of standing and walking in these on the very first day I wore them, I was reluctant to take them off. My feet were that comfortable, and they are that cute. No higher praise.This is the third pair of shoes I have bought from this brand, and I will happily buy more. Earth is one of a small number of shoe brands that really seem to understand the anatomy of the human foot. Worth every penny.PS: If you're wondering how I deal with the issue of my feet being two different sizes, I use a grey orthotic insert in the left bootie. I was afraid it might be too obvious with the side cutouts, but the insert is barely visible. Problem solved!

I LOVE these, but there are a couple of issues. I have horrible feet (flat, plantar, beginning to form a bunion, etc...). I'm only 32 and still care to be fashionable and trendy. These are actually pretty comfy and come made with a pretty good insole. I'm a teacher and toddler mama, so I'm always on my feet and need soft insoles with support. I gave these a 3 star rating because, one, the label that's sewn to the insole rubs my feet horribly and made wearing them all day uncomfortable until I bought a thin lining insole to cover the shoe insole (these are already pricey, so I hated spending even more money on them). My second reason for a 3 star rating is because the glue (or something that feels like plastic) is coming out of the seam around the top of the shoe. It's pretty scratchy and is running against my skin and flaking off in pieces.So, would I recommend these shoes, Yes! But, I don't believe the quality is worth the price!

Love this bootie, even though still on a cane I can wear them and feel cute AND safe (scared of tripping and falling again, last time my femur shattered which pretty much ruined my life, so now I'm super picky about what shoes I wear even tho it probably wasn't their fault, just not worth the risk anymore). Most "comfort shoes" are so ugly they're too embarrassing to wear, but not these, so I'm a total Earth fan now. Have a pretty & very stable sandal by them that's held up beautifully despite nearly daily wear every summer for three years & they still look great, expect these to last like those, too, since these also seem very well made. Now when I look for shoes I always pick this brand as one of my top four for quality, style, comfort and sure-footedness. Thank you Earth, keep up the good quality work!

these are very supportive and good looking shoes. the problem is the seam inside is rough and gave me blisters on my toes. i put a light sock on halfway through the day cause it hurt, but now they're a little looser too. i bought moleskin to cover the seam, but my blister is so bad that i still can't tolerate the shoes. waiting for my toes to heal to see if that works.

This is my third pair so that should tell you how much I love these. I'm unable to wear skinny heels or heels over 2" so this is the Holy Grail of shooties. I require a slight lift under one heel to even out my stance and this type of sandal with a closed heel allows me to easily do that. They are perfect with skinny pants, cropped pants, & dresses due to the height of the shaft and the size of the ankle opening. I have black, beige, and just got the blush. Blush is nearly identical to beige/nude, but with a slightly more flattering pink tint that is a better match to my fair skin tone. So I plan on using dye to tint the beige pair. All I do is add a bit of moleskin inside the front of the ankle opening.

OK...SO....my Earths just arrived and I unpacked them immediately!! First question..how to I get the zippers down to try them on without breaking the zipper. After working to get them down...how do I get them up!! OK...I got them up..walked around, checked them out....PERFECT!!! OK...so how do I get the zippers down to get them OFF!!! LOL!! Now the zippers work a LITTLE easier. WELL...I don't want to have to struggle each wearing, and I don't want to return them, so I got out the WD40!! Sprayed the zippers, worked them a bit. PERFECT!!! I wear a 6, but none were available. I have a high instep, so I ordered 6W Intrepid and am glad I did!! PERFECT!! Don't let the zipper issue discourage you if your the type to figure out how to make things work...you'll love them!!

Gosh these are really comfy shoes and for that I give it 4 stars. I just wish they looked more stylish, but it is what it is. It’s breathable, it’s got a great sole. I just felt kinda dorky wearing them. I actually think they’re ugly but it looks exactly like the picture so you get what you pay for. If you’re going for comfort, this is the brand to get. I am not yet sold on the look… but to each their own!!

This is my second pair of “Earths”. They are comfortable from day one. I was able to try on the 1st pair - a different style bootie- before I purchased. I normally wear a 9 1/2 M but they were too big. I tried on the 9W because shoes are often too tight at toes & it was perfect. So I ordered the same in these & they fit perfectly. The arch support is great. Color as pictured. I will say that as others have mentioned, the zipper clangs a little when you walk but probably only noticeable if you’re in quiet space.

nach 3 Kindern und habe ich eine extreme Senkung im Fussbett, und trotzdem einen hohen Spann. Es ist immer schwierig gute Schuhe zu finden, und obwohl ich von der Länge her 41,5-42 habe, kaufe ich meistensl 42-43, einfach weil die Schuhen vorne zu eng sind. Unter dieser Vorraussetzung hab ich auch diese Schuhe in 42,5 gekauft, aber 42 (evlt sogar 41,5 ) wäre genug gewesen.Obwohl die Schuhe etwas gross sind, bin ich restlos begeistern. Super geformetes, gepolstertes Fussbett, weiches Leder, angenehmer als Laufschuhe. Ich hab 2 verschiedene Paar Sandalen bestellt, beide etwas gross, aber so angenehm. Ich werde nur noch diese Marke bestellen.Versand einwandfrei.
