Works great

The original igniter finally burned out on our QuadraFire Classic stove. The technician could not come out for several days and we were cold, so I ordered this as a stopgap. When the technician didn’t show, I pulled up YouTube and saw how to install it. It went in with little difficulty, fitting just like the original did, and our stove is now working. Whether it will be as durable as the original equipment remains to be seen, but the house is warm.

Just put this in today since my original igniter finally burned out. This product appears to be almost identical to the OEM unit, down to the cable and spade connector cap colors. It makes me question whether the original products are not also made in China. The only difference is the original did not have a large washer and instead, the mounting screw had a small flared base built in to the screw to act like the washer. The clamp that holds the metal bracket that holds the prongs together was installed 180 degrees in the wrong direction. I assume it was a QC oversight at the factory. I had to slightly bend the bracket to slide it off, flip it around and reinstall. Not a big deal but I did knock a star off for that. We’ll see how long this lasts and I’ll update my review if it doesn’t.

I have bought a few of these and some last longer than others, I dont know if price affects that. But for the price I always keep an extra on hand, ready to install. I just cut the connectors off and use wire nuts.

This igniter is half the price at any store! And it works exactly the same. We've got them before from Amazon and never had a problem with them. It is an item that goes bad and needs to be replaced occasionally. I'd rather play half price for something that'll work just as well as a full price item! I hope you continue to carry this. But just in case I'm ordering another one!

Application: Quadrafire 1000 pellet stove. The attached male spade connectors are too big to fit through the necessary hole (the hole between the ash collection chamber and the controller area of the stove). They also don't match the existing attachment method (just wires). The leads on the igniter were too short by about 4 inches, making installation in an already tight spot frustratingly difficult. The provided wing nut is also inadequate; the wings are so short as to make finger tightening impossible. I re-used the original wing nut. I ended up cutting off the provided connectors, and attaching the leads to the controller side with wire nuts. The new leads are stretched to the max and under tension because they're too short. The manufacturer has obviously never attempted an installation of this product. Suggestions: provide longer leads on the igniter. Provide two sets of much smaller, loose male/female spade connectors and ship the igniter with just bare tinned wires. Provide a usable wing nut. The stove has cycled 5 times through the through ignition, as determined by the thermostat, and the igniter works so far. We'll see how long it lasts.

excellent replacement , stove is working

The igniter arrived at my house. Took me 5 minutes to install and it works great. I don't know what it would have cost me at a pellet stove retailer, but you do not need a tech to install it, do it yourself in no time.
