Monarch Specialties Coat Rack - Coat Tree with 8 Hooks, Hammered Metal 74" H (Black)

I like this stand, it appears to be sturdy (not yet tested with all my winter articles), and it is nice looking. The package came with no instructions, so I had to refer to the photos. Overall, it was easy to assemble, I did not have any issues with the pieces fitting together as other reviewers did. I'd buy it again.

I didn't expect the coat rack to be this nice! It was easy to put together, it's sturdy (doesn't tip over) and it looks Great! I'm definitely getting another one for the back of the house.

Although assembly is pretty straight forward based on the diagram included with the package, some of us are better with visuals while others, like me, do better with written instructions. On top of my being "visual assembly-challenged", one of the rods included in my set had a defective hole that had not been sufficiently "drilled/punched out" to accommodate the screw - a problem I solved by "jiggling" the wrench around in the hole to push some of the metal back. It took awhile, but eventually I got everything aligned. Overall, I am very pleased with the rack - it seems to be sturdy. But in this regard, I would like to note that according to the specs on the Monarch website, the weight capacity for this rack is supposed to be 11 lbs - an indice I think should have been included in the posting for this item. The rack may very well be able to hold more weight - but, given this is a spec the manufacturer has assigned to this item, I think its disclosure during the buying process would be useful to the consumer. Another "missing spec" is the number of "hanging branches", described in posting as "multiple". I know when I was assessing whether I wanted to buy this, I literally sat & tried counting them based on the picture. Can't remember what I came up with, but the actual number is 8.

I received this coat rack yesterday and spent about 15-20 mins putting it together. The instructions aren't very good but it's not too hard to figure out once you isolate the bottom, middle and top pieces. The hardest part is putting both end into each of the connectors in order to get the screws though all 3 holes. Once you have it lined up it's pretty simple. Study, attractive and really doesn't look cheap.

I got this coat rack to hang my purse collection on. It was simple enough to assemble (despite a handful of reviews claiming otherwise) and seems to be pretty sturdy. It fits nicely in the small corner I had envisioned, and I’m definitely pleased with this purchase!

I like this coat rack, arrived today. As others have mentioned, it’s a little difficult to put together. The pieces are easy to identify using the parts list, so that’s not a problem.Some of the pieces are very snug, so I used the Allen wrench to force an alignment of the holes for the bolts. Pretty effective.Looks wonderful, I’m hoping for longevity as to usefulness. If it fails, you’ll hear from me again. In the meantime… I’m just going to enjoy it.

We loved this addition to our hallway. We realized that hanging coat hooks in this house was not going to work well and found this gem.We couldn't be happier. The construction was well engineered and the parts constructed well with good base materials. It has enough hanging points for our family of 8.This was also simply to put together, easier if there are 2 people around.Buy with confidence!

I was skeptical of the sturdiness after reading some of the reviews but I love the coat rack! I have it in my bedroom (on carpet) and it’s very sturdy (using it for clothes). I don’t have to keep it balanced like some of the other reviews suggest-maybe because it’s on carpet and I’m using it for clothes and not coats? Regardless, it’s perfect for keeping my clothes off the floor! My boyfriend and I put it together- I do agree it’s easier with a second pair of hands. The bottom is slightly rounded and may move easily across tile floors.
