Can you attach a shockmount to this stand? Will it support the weight?

I'm unsure what a shock mount is but the stand is very sturdy. I'd guess it would hold at least 5lbs. Just googled shock mount yes it will hold.

Is the base detachable from the gooseneck part? In one of the pictures on this product page, it shows the bottom base separated from gooseneck part.

Each stand can be separated into three parts: the holder, the neck and the base.

what's the diameter or circumference of the clip? I have a wireless Samsung mic and it's 4.5" o 5" in circumference & approx. 4 mm in diameter.

You will need to change the clip. A good rubber wireless clip should be purchased. Very easy change. This is a good heavy flexible stand

Can the mic be aimed downwards without falling off?

Depends on how heavy your mic is. I use mine for A moderately hefty kick drum mic, and it can hold it up If I don’t tilt the gooseneck too much. I can’t imagine that anything could be too heavy to make it tip, and if you have trouble you can just turn the base the other direction.
