I am not in to star/planet gazing, but a friend of mine is - what does this actually do? i.e. what is the point of it? So I know if she might like

It's a glass globe, about the size of a cricket ball, that sits on a stand with LED lights in. In the globe is laser-etched the solar system - the planets and the sun. It doesn't actually DO anything as such. It's just nice to look at, and wonder at the marvel that is the universe.

Why is pluto not there

As quoted from Google "Pluto is now classified as a dwarf planet because, while it is large enough to have become spherical, it is not big enough to exert its orbital dominance and clear the neighborhood surrounding its orbit." Your buying a solar system beautiful ornament. It's not counted in the solar system in a planet.... I didn't make it and I'm not the seller but I did buy one and it's beautiful.
