Perfect bombillas!
These bombillas are perfect. Like all bombillas, you do not move them around or take them in and out of the gourd once the tea settles. The springs are great filters and the holes are not too big. I only get a few tiny pieces of leaves at the outset. The thing that makes these bombillas great is ease of cleaning! They are perfect!

Excellent metal mate straw for all your mate and tea needs!
These are perfect for mate and very easy to clean! The bottom portion un-clamps making it very easy to run water through it and rinse it off. I personally use these for mate, however I have also used them for tea! The spring wrapped around the holes in the straw prevents all of the noticeably particles from passing through the straw. I've used a couple different mate/tea straws and this one is by far the best and easiest to use and clean! One thing I can say is that coming off a bamboo straw is that the metal has a different feel to it. I definitely prefer the bamboo feel but I believe the functionality of the metal straw is much better!I would definitely recommend this item!

Only Received One and It's Mediocre
Amazon only sent me one of them. They did work with me to make up for their mistake, though. This bombilla is made of relatively light-weight but strong stainless steel and is easy to clean. That's about all there is good about it. It might work okay with large-cut leaf-only yerba (like Eco-Teas) or yerba/teas with very little powder and only larger stems, if any. In my experience it does not work well with yerba with a lot of powder and/or finely-cut leaves & stems. Perhaps my pull through the straw is too aggressive, but I would end up with a fair amount of fine leaves/stems in my mouth, at least until the yerba settled into the mate after a few cycles.I guess you get what you pay for, except I thought I was buying two and received only one. Buyer beware of possible disappointment on two levels.

Traditional more than Applicable.
These straws will minimally filter your tea. They are an old world invention and work like it. You will get tea in your mouth. If you want to drink it traditionally these straws work just as good as all of the other straws. If you want clean tea brew it separately and filter your tea with a coffee press or a coffee filter. All the straws no matter the brand or expense work the same.

I love these bombillas - they are very well made and easy to clean. They are made of thicker metal that disapates heat better than the thinner bombillas.

ONLY reliable bombilla - Argentines' choice
ONLY bombilla that works -- all my S. American friends agree. And in the last year, 9 impressed N. American house guests have asked me to get them one.-- suction is always good because there are no cracks to leak-- seldom a tea leaf in your mouth-- cleans quickly, easily and thoroughly-- the stainless steel eliminates the metallic taste or tarnish that others havePLEASE KEEP MAKING THIS BOMBILLA AVAILABLE TO US! I won't waste more money on any other kind. EcoTeas Stainless Steel SPRING BOMBILLA.

Best bombilla
Great bombilla. These are relatively heavy stainless, they come carefully packed - the spring filter comes off by disconnecting a clip that holds it at a specific gap size - works very well.

Spring mechanism is too weak -- tea blocks flow
<edit>'18 Sept 19thI have been using 1 or the (2) straws every day for 1 year, but only because I modified the design. In order to keep tea leaves and coffee grounds out of my mouth, I removed one of the springs and cut it in half, adding it to the other lined up correctly to avoid overlapping/bunching. Works great in this configuration w/ 1.5 springs; however, I now have just one straw for $28, plus a backup straw w/ 1/2 spring! Nevertheless, I am happy to have stainless steel. Now I change my "Stars" to 3, to reflect the poor manufacturing/design, but to "vote" with my dollars for stainless steel.<edit>'17 Oct 27thI find the ECOTEAS *spring* to be an incorrect size and strength, allowing mate leaves to sneak thru and into my mouth. I have repeatedly taken it apart and tried to combine TWO springs into one -- that does not work either. Going to try cutting one short and adding it to the other, and see if that works. Just don't have time to spend on this!'17 October 11thI hope this stainless steel straw replaces my alpaca/alpacca straw, purchased in ARG when I visited. Most of the ones I found in ARG and Chile were made of Aluminum, and the alpacca one I purchased I was assured was SILVER -- my wife, her family members, and the seller were convinced (or lying) that "it must be Silver! Trust me". Well, it turned out to be "German Silver", which is a derogatory way of saying "fake silver". The alloy (composition of) called alpaca is Copper, Nickel, and other non-precious metals. If anyone has high resolution data on trace mineral leaching from metal straws/cookware, please let me know! I have no idea which metal combo is least susceptible to degradation (and thus ingestion).Anyways, my alpaca straw has superior spring-to-straw design/manufacturing, a strength that never lets tea leaves interfere with suction and is easy to clean contrasted with the ECOTEAS spring-to-straw which is too weak and smaller gage spring, allowing a leaves and coffee grounds to come thru.
