Awesome vacuum, cant tell it is refurbished!
I bought this to replace a ten year old Dyson DC7 all floors that I thought was still doing a great job. It is AMAZING how much dirt this new Dyson slurped out of my very few carpets. Not just dirt, but ultra fine particulates that the old Dyson simply couldn't touch. Assuming that the marketing is true, I should be able to expect this same performance for a long time.Going from a two wheeled normal vacuum to a weird ball vacuum took a little getting used to, but after a few days of vacuuming with this thing, I am already converted. You have to maneuver a little differently than you do with a two wheel, and sort of have to "lean" into the turns (probably a bit like learning to ride a motorcycle after driving a car for decades).Aside from the plain brown box it came in, I cannot tell that it was refurbished. No dings, no dirt, no scratches. For 1/2 the price of a new model, I would have been fine with even some cosmetic issues.Vacuum is easy to use. It has an on/off button for the vacuum and a seperate on/off button (next to the normal button) to turn the brush head off and on.This vacuum comes with a TON of accessories - flex crevice tool, turbo brush, mattress brush, two other flat brushes, a microfiber dusting brush, and a couple of other brushes that I cant really identify. They all come in a big organizer that you can fold up like a suitcase or hang from a hook. I am guessing that there are 150 dollars worth of Dyson accessory tools in the box.Vacuum is not too loud, suction is super strong.

Still sucks even when it is plugged TIGHT!!
Okay, so I reviewed this before, then I came back today, and decrease my review, however I found out the problem existed not with the vacuum cleaner but with my old man. Seems he's a little on the lazy side and doesn't like to bend over and pick stuff up, and would much rather use the vacuum cleaner to do it. So the first picture is the solid plug that was formed in the bottom part of the vacuum. Now this Dyson was still sucking like a champ, but it sounded like an airplane when I started it up. There is a tremendous noise and a lot of, like a waffling sound. So I went in and started to rip it apart. Sure enough I found a tennis ball followed by all of that pet hair and other debris, wedged so tightly that I couldn't even use a metal poker to gently push it through. I had to use the metal poker combined with pliers, to pull out all of that disgusting junk. However! The Dyson never lost suction! So I have spoken with Dyson regarding the size of their hoses, because with my purple one, that's seen in that picture, I could suck up most things and not have to worry about it. But now, lesson learned, and the males in this household were all warned, pick it up, do not suck it up. The two images of the vacuum sitting side-by-side the old purple one needed to be replaced because it screamed loudly. When I got this kinetic, I assembled it, and tried it out, & the picture is one go round with the kinetic. And that was after vacuuming with the purple one. So this new one is absolutely amazing. It is only a four star review due to the Cosmetic condition of my vacuum. But I would not hesitate to purchase this! It does come with a 6 month warranty, and I also purchased the extra warranty through Amazon. I had called Dyson to initially complain, but when I found out it was created by the old man, when Dyson called me back, I explained, but they were still extremely nice and wanting to help. So at this price you cannot beat the effectiveness of a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Just do not allow careless people to use it, because it will only last three times before it blows up! 😡 MEN!!! and don't say at least he tried. I would much rather do it myself then spend $400 every 3rd use!!!😡

Lesson learned
First mistake - I bought a re-furbished model. It was still ridiculously expensive, yet it was dirty and SO obviously not new, and the rotating brush squeaks - truly disappointing. That one is on me. The vacuum is powerful, for sure. It's great for picking up pet hair, etc. BUT can we just talk about all of the "accessories"?? Never have I seen a more useless and difficult to use array of attachments. Thankfully, I kept my Oreck handheld vacuum, to get under the furniture, and into all the areas that the Dyson attachments are incapable of reaching. I can't remember the last time I suffered such buyers remorse.
