Tzou AC Power Adapter for Nintendo Wii Console

My Wii AC adapter has broken twice, the first one was the one that came with the Wii itself and the other was a GameStop brand. The official one broke due to a power surge during a storm and the GameStop one broke god knows how, the place where you insert it into the Wii was cheap plastic and all I could see were exposed wires. I then bought this for a very cheap price ($3.50), it arrived fairly quickly and I still have it (I ordered it a year ago). I don't believe it's Nintendo brand, but it looks like it is which is nice. This gets the job done for a great price and is durable enough to survive longer than the other AC cords I've gone through.I almost forgot to mention, not that it should effect your decision on buying this, but the power brick is very light from what I remember of the real one. This has absolutely no effect on anything, it was just something I noticed, I urge you to buy this if you need a new AC cord. This is perfect in price and quality.Overall: A+

This may be okay with some TV systems that have ultra clean in-home grounding. But this is a very light power supply and the original ones are very heavy. What's the difference? The original houses a true transformer inside. This one is just a switching type power supply. If you have any noise/buzzing/hum/interference issues in your house for any of your electronics products, do not buy this. The noise introduced on my TV is in the form of static waves that permeate the screen and are too distracting to bear. Granted it's a 13 year old RCA actual tube TV, but the old power supply did not do this. Switching-type power supplies are much more susceptible to noise (high KHz whine that can manifest itself many ways) and nothing more than a few rectifying diodes and filtering caps. Crappy compared to a true step-down transformer. I will try to locate some ferrite beads and place them on the output-side cable to see if that quelches this, but I'm doubtful. However for the price, I should have known it would be like this, so it's my fault for purchasing it.***Edit: The ferrite beads and a better quality RCA cable helped tremendously. You almost can't see the noise anymore. There are lots of them for sale here on Amazon. I highly recommending grabbing a pair for this power supply, then it gets four stars from me. Without it, it stays at two.***

Delivered on time. So far so good, only been a few days but the adapter was exactly like the OEM product. No buzzing noises anymore, turns on and off as expected. Will see what happens after long hours of playing.

Exactly as advertised. It was a very inexpensive fix to an non-working Wii console. We'v owned it for several months now. The unit is lighter than the original, as mentioned in other reviews. I don't know if that means it is technically inferior, but it does the job. It sure isn't inferior to the current state of the original power supply, which is dead.

Product arrived within the delivery estimate, if not before, and in excellent un-unsed condition. Our apartment complex loses power often and I am having some problems with small electronic items returning to full function. I had a similar power problem with the printer. So I just decided to try the same solution with the Wii by buying a new power cord and it worked. The Wii came on and returned to normal functioning. I will start to shut down the power strips when I shut down at night. Thank you.

Bought this despite the reviews that say these replacements are loud. Brought it to Europe to use with my US wii and she booted right up without a converter (you'll need an adapter, as the plug is a US plug). It also worked flawlessly in the US as well, so it truly is variable voltage. If you're thinking about getting one, even as just a replacement, this is definitely a great choice.

recently moved from Europe to the US and started using my old adapater with a 110-220 converter and a wall adapter. bought this to get rid of all the bulky power connection just for the Wii behind the TV. Works great so far, does feel empty as the other reviews pointed out but it works.

This power adaptor is cheaply made. It plugs in fine, very light battery, not like original wii adaptor and when I turned on the wii the picture is not of good quality. This adaptor is ok, I bought it for my wii that stopped playing games. I steam netfix from it for my children on their tv. They dont mind it but if you are wanting a new adaptor to replace one that stopped and you play games on it among other things I would spend the few extra $$$ to get the original wii adaptor.

Won't work with my wii. Unit turned on but I was unable to get my wii controllers to sync with my wii when I used it but was able to with another adapter
