Nice little motor! Worked great in my little foamie airplane!
This little motor has some power! Worked great in my little foamie airplane!

Good price, but needs minor fettling
I bought the 7mm one to convert a guillows kit to electric.Arrived promptly, but be aware it's in kit form. Pressing in the bushes into the plastic housing was a bit fiddly, as they're a very snug fit. Didn't need any tools as such but a vice may be helpful, pliers at a minimum. The motor vibrated terribly, with much of the power going as noise. I removed the prop to find it was way out of balance, so sanded down the rear face of the heavier bladeOne of the pinions is slightly off centre, so there is a tight spot. A drop of oil on the bearings goes a long way. However it still gives good thrust. Good value for money, but don't expect a high quality setup without doing some balancing first.Draws about 0.5 amps on a 1s lipo, rising to 1A at stall

Dog water
Fit and finish is super bad. Shaft is way to tight in the bushings. I've enjoyed smelling my own farts way more then putting this garbage together. Dont buy and dont sniff your farts

Lots of work required to use this!
Product assembles easily. No problem.Problem is that there is literally no provision or suggestion for mounting it to the model. The molded plastic has a very unusual shape, and I am still trying to figure out how to mount it to the plane. The same products from other manufacturers have tabs for mounting.Very large oversight in an otherwise good product.

Mismatched motor and propeller
Quality as expected, fit is a bit tight but for the price i cant complain, the slight disappointment is the motor and prop mismatch i received a CW spinning motor (black and white wire) with a CW spinning propeller…. I needed a CCW spinning motor (red and blue wire) the motors are brushed so switching polarity isn't really an option, it causes the motor to over work and experience efficiency losses in the form of heat. I have tons of CCW motors that fit this so no big deal for me.

Seems to work but it's hard to assemble and has "iffy" quality
This power unit is difficult to assemble because it involves pushing/forcing multiple plastic components over metal items. In addition, the very narrow metal shaft included was damaged and had to be filled down to fit inside the provided metal collars. If you are not good at filling and forcing very small, pointy metal items, you might want to avoid this; it would be easy to puncture a finger while assembling. No instructions were supplied. Once assembled, when power is present the motor does spin the propeller.

It's a bit of a concept, or maybe a rough plan, of a Coreless Motor Propeller Set.
This motor-gear drive and propeller would probably be a great deal *if* most of the parts were sized to fit the other parts they're intended to go into/onto/through.Unfortunately this is a rough "kit" of a propeller/geardrive. First off the 7mm motor is way, way too big to be easily forced with normal human strength fingers, into the plastic holder! I had to use a Zona Razor-Saw to cut open the bottom of the geardrive's plastic body so that stretches open a bit and fits tightly over the motor.Sweet! The other issues are the propeller and big spur gear are both drilled a considerably smaller diameter than the knurled part of the prop's shaft, so you're going to have to resort to using a small hammer and 2X4 piece to support the gear and the propeller while you tap the prop's shaft through them, And if you are not careful when doing this, the prop shaft can drift a little to either side ruining whatever concentric precision either the prop or gear would have otherwise had.It would be a good idea to chamfer the prop shaft end and maybe sand down the knurling a little so it passes through both the prop and big gear a little more easily. You're going to need a numbered drill set and a pin-vise which you can buy here on Amazon, lucky you!The pin-vise and numbered drill bits will be used to slightly open one of the two pinions they send with this Coreless Motor Propeller Set. It's good they sent two I suppose. Also good practice at drilling precision holes. So start with the drill that just fits the teensy, little pinion gear's inner diameter hole, and work your way up in size to roughly to the #65 drill. ( Numbered drill bits get bigger when their number is smaller...) So start at about #72 or whatever just barely fits inside the little drilling and work slowly to larger size. Don't drill it too open to far ( too loose..) because you want it to not so easily slide on the shaft with firm thumb pressure. Try fitting it to the motor's shaft after each drill bit pass. The tiny brass bearings will need to be tapped home into their receiving holes in the upper part of the plastic prop and motor carrier piece, with your small hammer, you have a small hammer, right?Cool! I knew you did..If you are careful you will end up with a motor/geardrive and propeller set that will run very nicely, or it could also end up wasting more than a few hours and be quite horrible. Think of it as a class in micro mechanical craftsmanship.Oh BTW, to add: I ordered the 8520 motorgearpropeller, but what I was sent was the 715, which is not such a big deal as the model I'm building this with doesn't need a lot of power.
