Perfect for feeding Mantis
Enough flexibility to handle flies and other insects to feed my son's mantis.

Super lightweight
I’m taking an insect collection class and these were a great cheap find I can use in the field and while pinning

Pretty gentle for large ant species.
Can easily pick up harvester ants (Pogonomyrmex) and larger carpenter ants without hurting them. Would also work well for small beetle species. A little too strong for moving around smaller ant species without harm.

Entomology forceps
As mentioned in an earlier review, these are almost exactly the same as BioQuip used to sell. (I miss BioQuip!) They are used for handling delicate aquatic macroinvertebrates without crushing them. They are not "tweezers" that some might use for pulling hairs out of their body, etc.

Pond dipping manipulation
Perfect for gently moving small creatures collected during pond dipping without harming them.

Unusable
Immediately obvious that the tips are out of alignment by about 40% when closed. Trying to grasp any insect would twist it. Returning for a refund. The hinge joint is solid so this was presumably a quality inspection failure.

Poor quality
Not good for precise use. The tips are not the same length making it difficult to use. Maybe just a one time thing. Made in china so I don’t know what my expectations were but not worth it.
