Excellent litter mat!
This is the perfect litter mat no need to look further. I purchased the Jumbo XX Large mat to fit my 2 litter boxes under. I have 2 cats that scatter litter everywhere and this mat has made a HUGE difference. Significantly less litter on floor and cleanup is a breeze. HIGHLY recommend!

BUY TWO, BYE LITTER MESS!
Great Mat. I wish it was a little easier to clean but then it wouldn't catch the litter as well. Here in Alaska when it's freezing it's not easy to take this thing out and hose It off so I end up having to put it in the shower. You have to shake it really good to get all the litter out. It's done a fantastic job at cutting back on the mess. I did put it at the exit of an extra large litter box in a corner and it seems to give the cats more than enough space to walk out and help shake off whatever litter is on their feet. Highly recommend purchasing..maybe even two to solve your litter woes!!

it works great for me - it traps everything on my shoes ...
So I can't really write a review from the cats perspective, just from my own. So that cat doesn't go near it even though I've strategically placed it so that its unavoidable, he finds ways around it or jumps over it! But I've put it into the entrance of the bathroom to use for myself as I have to go through the bathroom to get to the "bathroom".. it works great for me - it traps everything on my shoes and bare feet so I don't trek lose litter around my home.. But I've found that maggots are very attracted to it (I don't often get maggots it was a once off) and they tunnel into the deep mesh for whatever reason so I wouldn't suggest leaving it in place for more than a couple of days, I found though its easy enough to get rid of the maggots just by hanging it in the sun and breeze for 10 minutes and they worm out by themselves.. So I think its a good product as long as you generally keep up with the housework regularly. But it could be better if it had a way to attract the cat to it, like including a pheromone spray or something like that.. I am thinking of buying another one to keep next to my bed so my midnight pit stops don't bring crunchy stuff into my bed. Thanks!

and by far the best. Cloth - don't waste your money
I have 5 cats, and I also foster for a cat rescue organization. I have between 3 and 6 litter boxes to clean regularly. Fosters often come with diarrhea, often explosive, so not only do I need a litter trap, but a way to keep other "scatter" to a minimum. This is the fourth type of litter mat I have ordered, and by far the best. Cloth - don't waste your money; does not trap litter, only everything else. One of the others is similar to this one, but larger and thinner. Have only had it for a year, it is falling apart. These are nice and thick, and perfect size. I bought three in my first order, was satisfied enough to buy 2 more. I know some of the reviewers thought these are hard to clean - can't have it both ways....you want to trap litter, you need a good mesh. I have to sanitize the mats, so I start by going outside and shaking the heck out of them, then I toss them into an upright washing machine with other cat items that need sanitizing (machine washing is NOT recommended by the manufacturer) - never just mats, always other cloth items to minimize stress on the mats, use cold water, detergent, and bleach. Hang dry. Takes care of any trapped litter , tinkle, and other stinkies. UPDATE DECEMBER 2018 - After two years being chewed on, used as a scratcher, tinkled on, and at least weekly washing in a bleach and detergent solution in a washing machine, they need to be replaced. Another vendor's mat ripped in half the second time it was washed. In a fostering environment, sanitizing is very important; my current babies have ringworm, so everything has to be washed every day. Am ordering more of these, knowing my personal investment is being made on a durable product.

Keeps the floors clean
The mat was properly packaged and arrived in good condition. Right off the bat, what I noticed was that it is heavier than other mats I've seen so the cat cannot move it away. The first cat litter mats came out a long time ago, and I have tried a few, all junk except the last two I've bought (including this one). The mat I have been using is very similar to this one except that it is too small and light so it moves under the cat's weight and also the cat jumps over it. This mat is thick, soft, heavy and stays in place. The cat does not jump over it. I think because it is soft, he doesn't mind walking on it. I put the box in a spare bathtub. The walls of the tub keep in flying sand when he's digging for China. They also encourage him to use the mat. When I had the old mat, however he would jump directly in and out rather than step on the mat, making a huge mess. I am using a large particle litter that is not recommended, but it's just fine. I just vacuum it up. It absolutely is working and I am no longer having to wipe cat litter off my feet after walking down the hall. Just FYI, though, I still have to vacuum, but now I just vacuum a small area around the litterbox and not the whole apartment. He is a big cat so the sand piles up fast. Having litter scattered around wasn't just unhygienic to me, but I think the cat has developed an allergy to the cat litter dust, hence the large particle dust free litter. He has stopped sneezing and I've stopped medicating him with an anti-inflammatory from the vet. I chose this mat over the other mats available for several reasons. First, I liked that when people posted questions, the seller herself answered the questions and she did so frankly. When asked if it comes in a smaller size, she didn't get all politician-y. She stated simply no, and gave a good reason. Also I wanted a quality mat that gets the job done. I've been burned by cheap junk before. Any amount you spend on a product that does not work is wasted money. You don't save money by cheaping out and junking up your hoard. So I'm glad I spent the extra $5 and got a mat that the cat approves of and keeps the place clean and sanitary. I'm also going to save a ton on vet bills, so I really can't give it less than all 5 stars. And a bonus is that the seller is a small businesswoman who genuinely cares about cats and the humans under their mind control. I believe that choosing to support small businesses instead of corporate monsters improves the economy and society because small businesses are very accountable for their actions and decisions, unlike corporations that are above the law.

Stepping on litter bearfoot isn’t pleasant, here is your solution!
This is such a great litter mat! Have had it a couple years. Between my own cats and foster cats, this mat has been used and abused by approximately 13 cats over the years. Still in perfect condition! You can and should vacuum this mat as often as possible. Never an issue even with daily vacuuming sessions. Usually once a month I will take it outside and bang it clean and allow it to sit out in the sun to air out and disinfect. I do spray it down every couple of months with a disinfectant. Then, let dry before using again. I was forced to wash it as one of the dogs puked on it and I couldn’t get it clean. It washed up perfectly. No issues at all. I laid on railing outside to let it throughly dry. I set out the litter box with no mat and then with this one to compare. Of course there was a lot of litter right in front of the box as well as tracked around with no mat. With this mat, it catches all the litter between the holes. I lift up the top layer, sweep the litter with my small broom, and then toss it back in the box - instead of trying to fold the mat and pour it back in. I did notice some tracking around the area, but I can't imagine a mat that catches absolutely everything. I don't really notice any litter in other rooms, so that's great as well. Also note that this mat is thicker than most, so it's best to have the litter box all the way on the mat or not at all, otherwise the box will be a bit wobbly.

acceptable solution for both kitty and me
This was the first litter mat for my finicky new kitten, and I was afraid that she'd refuse to use it and/or it would be as inefficient as plastic mats I've used in the past for my other cat. The first concern was that this is a big mat, but the company does explain the reason for the large size on the product page-- and they're right. Kitty doesn't even try to evade stepping on the mat, and it catches a lot more litter than what comes directly off her feet (it also catches the general scatter). Next worry was keeping it clean, and that too is easy. It traps the litter quite well (I use a mix of lightweight and glide, FYI), and you've got a couple of options for cleaning it, depending on how much time you have that day. You can roll up the whole mat and just shake it outside; this is most effective. Sweeping a regular house broom over the mat is surprisingly efficient; it doesn't do the job perfectly, but it works for a touch-up. I've also used a floor vac with success (a little Dirt Devil, nothing fancy with brushes). The design isn't cutesy: it pretty much looks like a nice doormat. I have a gray tile floor, and it blends in pretty well without screaming "litterbox accessory!" It had a pretty strong smell right out of the box, but it aired out quickly. It did lie flat immediately without the edges curling up (etc.). Everyone's happy.

When litter is making you bitter! 😻
I have an unbeleivably MESSY cat.. Seriously, I think he holds the litter in invisible pockets & intentionally sprinkles it around. Then while I'm cleaning it he is around the corner tapping his fingers together menacingly laughing.. (Bwahahaha!!) I've tried everything to keep him from tracking EVERYWHERE & the only thing that even kind of worked was a similar 2x1 version of this mat. I was ecstatic to find one this size! Vacuuming about once a month or so with a hose to really get in there is all it needs to keep it working. I am fortunate enough to have never dealt with the urine getting trapped in it (like some people) but it is water proof & would be easy to hose down outside (or in a shower if you have to). It also stays put on linoleum but I wouldnt recommend small versions for carpet. My only complaint is the price is a tad high but it's the price I'm willing to pay to not have litter falling out of my every orifice. Plus I should never have to replace it bc of how durable it is. Update: Went from 5 to 3 because somehow my fur babies dug a hole in the mat a few months ago. I can still make it work but not as durable as I thought so makes it not worth the money for me any more. Still traps litter but I'm going to go with something cheaper next time. For over $40 there shouldnt be a next time.
