Grand Tableau Lenormand Review: Lovely little Lemorand deck especially since it is a reproduction of Mlle. Lenormand's own deck - I'm totally new to the Lemonard deck and am now learning how to use it for divinations. I'm so glad I was drawn to and purchased this one because the card size and vintage artwork is (supposedly) exactly like what Mlle. Lenormand used. The little box is so much better to keep the cards and booklet in versus a flip-top box. Nice weight of card stock and easy to shuffle. The type-size in the booklet is T..I..N..Y -- if you're like me you'll enjoy using a 10x magnifying glass to more easily read the booklet, and to get a better view of each card's artwork nuances. Highly recommend. Review: More than worth its cost - My card pack arrived opened, no cellophane wrapping for the box or the card pack, and the cards were more than likely shuffled/used. This is unimportant to me, as I purchased the deck for research purposes. Those who intend to use them for readings may find this objectionable. So, fair warning. With that notice out of the way and in view of other reviews, I do not find the cards tiny. Length-wise, they're equivalent to a standard playing card. They are only slightly more narrow at width. The finish on the cards is lovely to the touch and the eye. The card back design is striking. I have no other Lenormand decks to compare for the front of the card imagery, but I can see the execution is very fine. On card #1, Rider, for example, the treatment of the shadow of the horse is delightful, as well as the faint treatment of distant mountains in the background. Interestingly, in this image distance is represented in a way that reflects how distance is seen by the human eye (at least according to Leonardo). Those cards that offer images of objects are also well executed. For example, there is a lovely treatment of texture for Card 11, Whip. As for the booklet, I understand why some complain the font is tiny. It is, but with good light, it is readable, even with my far from perfect eyesight. As for the box, it is sturdily made. Priced at $13, I think the deck is more than worth its cost.

Perfection. Ideal for the GT spread.
The petit card size makes these perfect for a complete Grand Tableau spread, and they shuffle quite nicely (though I have to admit I didn’t want to at first because they are just so pretty). The artwork is gorgeous, boasts a classic French style that many like myself look for while collecting decks and fit perfectly in the box it came to keep them protected from weathering or other damage. 10/10 would recommend to anybody wanting to improve their Lenormand Oracle experience.

Tiny cards - but good quality
Well made cards, but smaller than my brain had pictured (despite knowing the dimensions prior to purchasing). Still, they’re a nice size to throw in my bag. The printing is high quality, images are clear and the thickness of the cards is perfect. Great little deck, and bonus that they come in a sturdy two piece box instead of the thin tuck boxes. Very pleased!

Great small bridge size. Good card stock.
Good sock quality. Images seem blurry but realized they’re based on an old deck. Perfect bridge size cards. A great deck.

Lovely deck, little white book annoying
The cards are charming and I really like the small size. The cards arrived two days after I ordered them. At this point I would award four stars; however, I am deducting one star because the language in the little white book that accompanies the cards is insufferable. The Card Meanings have been updated to reflect current politically correct groupthink relating to the gender and pronouns of the human figures represented on certain cards. For example, the image on the Child card is described as follows: "A young person plays in a garden. They wear rings around they [sic] arms. A ball sits at their feet, and they wield a toy sword in their hands." Apparently, any specific gender assumption based on style of dress or hair would be doubleplus ungood and is scrupulously avoided in this description. In addition, the Kings, Queens and Jacks are described as "male presenting" or "female presenting" persons. It seems that the intent of the publisher (Lo Scarabeo) is that their Grand Tableau Lenormand little white book should linguistically signal their virtuous adherence to the ideological requirements of the current zeitgeist. Sigh. Elsewhere in the booklet, terms such as "social media," "Internet," and "Email" have been added to some of the card meanings, creating a jarring sense of anachronism in this lovely reproduction of a late-19th century deck.

This deck takes its name from the famous Marie Anne Lenormand, though the exact design of her personal cards remains a mystery. I purchased this set for its historical appeal, and it truly delivers on that promise. The card quality is impressive, sturdy with a smooth protective finish that feels durable and long-lasting. The size is perfect for laying out the Grand Tableau. Shipping was excellent too: the deck arrived in perfect condition and even a day earlier than expected. Highly recommended for collectors and readers alike!

Perfect for beginners. Good affordable option. Super accurate. Easy to learn. Love that the cards are on the smaller size.
