I used this to access electrical wiring that I eventually want to replace. I opened up the drywall to check in on the wiring and used this access door for permanent access. It fits perfectly between my ceiling joists and I like how much more sturdy this is than the butterfly clip style that only use tension to mount.

This worked just as intended. Good quality. I would buy it again.

I actually used this access door for a client that wanted a door to drop food in to their chicken coop. So I cut the chicken wire, ran a couple of 2x4 across, and screwed the access door to them, overlapping the chicken wire. I attached a different opening latch to the door, so that you don't have to use a screw driver to lock and unlock the door, and it is now easy to use.Perfect for what we needed it for!

Works great. I like that it is made from steel versus plastic. The door that opens is 14x14, the opening in the wall needs to be about 14 3/8 by 14 3/8. The flange around the outside is about 1 inch for a total dimension of 16x16.The door latch requires a flat screwdriver to operate and is really stiff to turn. As someone else said, there is no spring on the door, so once the latch is turned, you need to use your flat screwdriver to pop the door open. I wish the latch operated more easily, but I don't really care since I don't think I will need to get behind the door more than once every few years.

Very sturdy and well made. Got a similar product made in China and it was disappointingly flimsy and cheaply made. Go Canada!!

Had to expand the main water lin access point in my finished basement. This larger door works great and I painted the door to match the color of my basement walls. Looks great.
