The web page says up to 115 pounds max and up to 20 HP.
The web page says up to 115 pounds max and up to 20 HP. I just received the mount. The box says up to 86 pounds and a max of 20 ?? Find me a 20 HP outboard the weighs in at less than 86 pounds. Called Marinetech, they said its a misprint on the box. Will install tomorrow.

Twists and turns
Used it for a Torqeedo electric motor. Pretty unstable.

very weak even on a 4 H.P.
The mount has trouble accommodating a 4HP with any lateral force. The entire bracket just bends whenever I turn to motor to dock. This often leads to the engine leaving way over and I am forced to throttle way down...on a 4 H.P. No way I would recommend this on even a 6 H.P. and certainly NOT up to 20 H.P. I am going to replace with a fixed mount with wider attachment points.

Don't lose your motor into the ocean.
Just lost my Johnson 9.9 into the ocean after the blots pulled out of the Marinetech 55-0021. I have photos. The aluminum plate broke on the bottom port screw hole, the other holes just elongated. This was the aluminum plate that was bolted to the large plastic piece that the motor screws onto. Motor and Plastic mount went into the ocean together. Aluminum portion of mount stayed on my boat.Your motor mount is a real disappointment.
