String Trimmer, Electric, 14-inch (BESTE620)

Easy, fast assembly. Strong motor, the string holds up well and the push button string feeder works great. I really like that is is corded electric. This is my 3rd trimmer and so far the best. A good value compared to expensive battery electric trimmers.

I’m really impressed with the BLACK+DECKER BESTE620 string trimmer! For an electric model, it packs a surprising amount of power. It easily handles overgrown grass and weeds around my yard, and the 14-inch cutting swath makes quick work of trimming even larger areas. One of the things I love most is how lightweight and easy to maneuver it is. I can trim my entire yard without feeling sore afterward. The adjustable height and handle make it comfortable to use, and the automatic feed spool means I don’t have to keep stopping to adjust the line — a huge time saver! Another bonus is the 2-in-1 feature: it converts from a trimmer to an edger with a simple twist. Super convenient for keeping sidewalks and garden edges looking neat. This electric string trimmer does a good job of weed eating and edging the grass. The auto feed works great if you purchase string already wound, but the auto feed doesn't work well if you wind the string yourself. It's easy to use and has decent speed. Not heavy to use and a good size. Good value for the money.

I've had the same problem several other reviewers have had ~ the spools don't line up with the spool cover easily, causing the string to break off at 2-3 inches within a couple minutes of use. Even when I am able to line up the spool, hear it click properly, and then line up with the openings on the spool cover, it still breaks off too short, too fast. This is my third B&D trimmer like this, and it's the worst. My last one only lasted a year, and I had similar problems with it. I'm done. It works well when it works, but who wants to stop every five minutes and adjust the string length? I will return it and look for one with a blade instead.

Needing a string trimmer, I started looking at cordless. After reading lots of so-so reviews about battery hassles, I realized I have plenty of extension cords and a small area to keep weed free. I love corded tools. No batteries to worry about. This Black & Decker gets great reviews for its effective ease of use, and sturdiness. I agree. In a few minutes you are ready to go. But - wait! Is your extension cord going to fit the tight plug-in on this trimmer?? Mine barely fits, and I bet yours will be tight too. I happened to have a repaired plug on one extension that did Not fit. A bit of a design flaw. Note that this trimmer only needs a 2-pronged extension. Secondly, I also found that if you impact something hard, say a brick or something wooden, you can cause the cutting line to go all the way into the line “container” I quickly had to learn how to repair the line feed. Twice. That can be learned reading the instructions. So, it does take some practice learning how to use this (and every) line trimmer. Having gotten the hang of it, it is a great time saver and efficient grass and weeds trimmer. I am pleased I bought it. The live feed enhancement seems to work well, and that took took some practice. It just takes one press to feed just enough. I gave this trimmer a four, because of the small things I had to learn how to use, and the plug situation. If you buy an extension cord for this trimmer, make sure it has a small female 2-pronged head, and try it immediately before things get dirty. This B&D does a great, fast job once you have the technique down.

I am in love with this weed eater. So much research done because I am on my 3rd kind. I wish I had gone with this one in the first place. I just threw the Greenworks trimmer in the garbage after only a couple of times using it because the trash is where it belonged. This Black and Decker is super powerful! It took 2 minutes to put together. I use a 100 ft cord and basically I am mowing my whole 11,000 Sq ft of weeds with this. I love the ease of the string feed and you don't have to bump, just push the button if you want more string. The weight is light as can be and the handle adjusts for me at 5 foot tall and for my husband at 5'10" tall. Being so light weight, I don't get fatigued. The edger works perfectly. Buy one, inexpensive and worth the money.

This a great trimmer! I tried it out for the first time the other day and it was tremendously great. The line feeder is genius! Assembly was so easy and it's not heavy at all. I was so impressed with this product! I hope it lasts!

This trimmer is perfect for my 1/4 acre yard. It trims and edges. I’ve been using this B&D Model or similar for 30 years. The price is so reasonable when it wears out I order a new one on Amazon. I also like the light weight of this trimmer.
