So great I'm surprised it's not illegal
WOW! This deserves at least six stars. I have been involved in amateur high-power rocketry for several years, and one of my as-yet unattained goals is to put a GoPro camera up above 100,000 feet. It has been a huge multi-year, multi-thousand-dollar project. A couple of months ago I stumbled across a web site showcasing amateurs achieving the same thing for a tiny fraction of the cost with high altitude balloons. It is genius! Just follow some commonsense guidelines from FAA Part 101 and you can reach the edge of space from your backyard. If you would like to see one example, go to YouTube and search "HAB Flight Above Kawaihae".If you decide to do this yourself, let me offer some tips:1) Practice with a medium-sized project (say, an 8-foot balloon) before you go all-in with the big one2) There are a number of sites online that can offer information about video streaming, tracking, etc3) Forget the Hindenberg. Hydrogen works just great and it is much less expensive than helium. I'm sure that the DOT has lots of rules about filling and transporting hydrogen cylinders, but a little local ingenuity should get you in business. On the other hand, helium is safe and easily available at your nearest industrial gas supply.

So fun
Very paint able latex. We use a hairdryer to blow it up, and paint messages on them. When we do them outdoors it takes very little helium to keep them aloft. (too much helium and they are gone)

Four Stars
I conducted groundbreaking atmospheric research with this balloon and was hired by NASA as a result.

Poorly annealed, moderately inaccurate but generally good enough.
The strength lines are uncertain here but at least one can say that with regard to pronouns a ball stood over it all.

Good Balloon
This is the balloon you will want for those extremely high altitude experiments! It is what I use for 100,000 feet+

Fine quality, no issues
Fine quality, no issues. I've purchased balloons here for several years, no holes ect ; always reached the altitude desired.

I'd say it worked well: [...]
