Whirlpool FreshCare FFD9448BSVUK Freestanding Washing Machine, 9kg, 1400rpm, White, Decibel rating: 52, EU Acoustic Class: A [Energy Class C]

After trying to repair my 20 year old Whirlpool washing machine for a few weeks, I gave up and bought this new model. The old machine never faultered, never gave any trouble at all until the programmer which had moving parts gave up, that machine impressed me so much with its quality of build and lasting-power.This machine, a Whirlpool FreshCare FFD8448BSVUK, is a delight to use. Firstly though I decided to replace the valves on the supply from the house and used a new cold water hose (the only connection). Didn't realize there was a new hose supplied with the machine, in the drum with the manual. Turned the mains back on.....To setup a wash turn it on, select the programme with the big knob, I add a rinse but you can add upto 3 if you are allergic to soap powder or liquid. I add the liquid to the measure-marked soap drawer. then just press the play/pause button. 5 minutes later I can press the pause button again to add that Tea towel I missed, the door was immediatly ready to open, because it knew the water was below the door, then play again after closing the door with a gentle push and click. (It will reduce the water level if above on a full load, then allow the door to open).This is an 8 Kg model figuring it'll wash my duvet when needed, but usually I use about half a load, this machine must weigh it's contents because it uses a '6th Sense' mode to adjust the amount of water and time to cycle the whole wash programme, so on the mixed wash cycle plus one rinse it takes an hour and 10 mins to finish a 4Kg load, (each extra rinse adds 10mins) the screen shows wash time remaining, which is more useful than one expects.Now a slight downside in my enthusiasm is I am not used to a 1400 rpm spin, the previous Whirlpool machine went to 1200 rpm but I always set it at 1000 rpm, mainly to help it last longer, reduce sound, the resulting wash had little difference in dampness. With my first use of this one I used the 1400 rpm spin and felt the extreme power, vibration and noise, unsurprisingly I felt I needed to put a steadying hand on the top, but surprisingly found this reduced the noise by about half, the centre of the top panel needs some packing. This has not happened again because now I reduce the speed to 1200 rpm, so I get less creases in my shirts and trousers.Nothing is perfect, there is your personal choice, but I recommend this as a great well valued machine.I paid £306. I bought so meany brands but so far this one is the best been using more than 2years without a problem I beleive will last for many years.

ALWAYS HAD A GOOD MACHINE MAINLY ALWAYS LG THAT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OF STAR TREK. DID A SEARCH ON AMAZON SHOPPING FOUND THIS BABY. GLAD I DID GOT THE TECH I LOVE BUT ACTUALLY WAS TAKING TO MY SISTER WATCHING THE MACHINE WORKING N COULD SEE THE WHITE BIT OF VARIOUS ITEMS ACTUALLY GOING TO A STARTLING WHITE. LOVE THE STEAM REFRESH N MY BABY SIS IS DEAD JEALOUS LOL LOL. SHES THREATINING TO BRING MY NEPHEWS RUGBY CLUB GEAR OVER. SO TO THE LADS OUT THERE MAINLY IF YOURE JUST DIVORCED LIKE ME N WANT A LARGE MACHINE THAT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ITS NOT UP TO ME IF YOU BUY IT BUT ID DEFFO BUY ANOTHER JUST WISH ID GOT THE LARGER ONE TO UPSET ME SISTER MORE LOL LOL. Previously I had 5KG, 7KG, and it wasn't quite enough. So this time I ordered 9KG. I was worrying the noise could be too loud for a bigger machine, but actually it's not noisy at all. I've been using it for a few months, and it's still perfect. Only when the machine remind to de-lime, I don't know the which brand the machine is talking about.

Very easy to use machine, with detailed instructions on all the different features.This machine is so quiet compared to my last one and despite having a 9kg drum is also smaller than my previous washing machine. Have used it a lot in the last week to clear my washing pile backlog after my last machine died, and I absolutely love this machine. The led screen tells you how long is left on each cycle and even what part of the cycle it is on.

Delivery was delayed but make allowances for covid and staffing issues. Unit looks great, huge door for easy loading and super quiet. Did a good job on first two washes, one mixed load and one delicates. And unlike our last machine the 9kg load applies to a number of wash settings, not just one programme. Hope it is built to last.
