DIR-X4860 (AX4800)
Originally used the router that was built into the Uverse modem. Had to use two extenders to get coverage in corners of house. Have multiple users and each with multiple devices that are on wifi. Bought this hoping to improve range and connectivity for all users, and to future-proof for newer AX and MU-MIMO devices coming out. Dlink router setup was easy. Had to redo the settings on the Uverse router first to disable Uverse wifi and enable passing of modem signal to Dlink router. Range is considerably improved. Internet traffic seems to move more quickly with no/little dropouts or buffering.

General Purpose Router
This is for our needs just a basic router for general use. It is a replacement for a gaming router that said enough after 5+ years The old one was 3000 and this is 4600. After the initial setup, nobody pays it any attention nor does it draw any attention to itself.. the grandchildren give it a good workout, grandma and grandpa put it to sleep (too boring). For $80.00 it isn't a bad deal for what you get. Hope this helps. Take care everyone.

Good solid router.
Running great after a couple years. Replaced my ISPs router. Wifi is more solid and hardline with a gigabit switch is fantastic. No down throttling at all and has been stable. No issues to report.

Fast, fast, fast. WPA3 is a bonus.
Plugged it into cable modem and downloaded new firmware. Then did a factory reset. It's been solid now for a week. Concerned last update was a year ago but these need to be updated about every 3 years anyway due to cheap parts and updated technology. Will update if anything else comes up. Great product at a great price.

Deliberate attempt to mislead customers
This review is primarily for AX4800 router. This router has nothing to do with MESH. It's just another average Wi-Fi 6 router. As we can see in the attached image, they have clearly advertised this as mesh router. But we can't use this router to extend the network. When checked with Dlink customer support, they clearly mentioned that, we have to buy other extenders available in the market to create mesh. For this purpose, we can buy any routers (even my 10 year old AC router can be extended using the extenders to create a mesh) I already have an AX5400 router bought 6 months back (that is also advertised as mesh router) and it is doing it's job as Wi-Fi 6 router. But I found the range is a bit on the lower side, for both 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz. That's the reason I decided to buy this one, AX4800. So that I can use this one to extend the coverage wireless by creating a mesh. But found that AX4800 cannot be used to extend wirelessly. The customer support suggested to use this router, AX4800 as the main router and then use AX5400 for extending the coverage wirelessly. This is a bad idea since AX4800 has less capacity than AX5400, so we are degrading the performance. Still I have tried to do the same as I dint like to go through the burden of returning the item. Yes it did increased the coverage definitely, but my devices started facing connection drops. It usually give high values when performing speed tests. But most of my devices shows hiccups and had to disconnect and reconnect. After couple of weeks sufferings, it's going back.

It is a Wi-Fi six router. It's not a great one. I'd say it's worth 50 bucks
Feels "cheap" and very light; antennas are loose and do not tighten as one would expect. Speed via 5ghz is good, receiving 500mbps d/l, but the distance range is very poor; Probably defective; already spent hours troubleshooting. Rather not continue to waste three MORE hours on the phone with D-Link support. I’d be amazed if the buyer gets one working satisfactorily within the day. The manufacture of this device has intelligent technical support; he was helpful and would work with him again, if needed. D-link phone-in customer support woman that I experienced needs to see a therapist and has a miserable soul. She enjoyed speaking to me in a condescending manner, even speaking over me; furthermore, correcting me (in her eyes) about my concerns and questioning the determination of their own technical support team, saying “doesn’t sound right that its defective”, with a long pause implying that there’s nothing wrong with the item, it’s in fact an end user problem. One of the models that I purchased from D-Link systems happened to be defective, and they abnormally charge you to return it to the manufacturer. EVEN THOUGH TECHNICAL SUPPORT DEEMED THE ISSUE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT, I WAS TOLD RETURN SHIPPING IS NOT COVERED. They are on the west side of the USA so $56 USD to return it. I spent several hours and different communication methods attempting to save Amazon money (mistake, what was I thinking) and resolve the issue without bothering them, as previously, this seemed to be the case. Went above and beyond; in the end Amazon was upset that I didn’t contact them for processing a return with inhouse amazon support team, instead, utilized the manufacturer technical support. I contacted manufacturer D-LINK technical Support instead of Amazon Support as the 30-day Amazon return-window was no longer open; leading me to contact manufacturer technical support instead. I thoroughly explained this to different people at Amazon customer service and I hope they resolve that issue. However, I don’t hold much trust in that wish.
