I have used B+W filters for decades. Gradually moving up with their better items when I got new lenses etc. I was a little hesitant to spend the extra 20% for the T-Pro. Let's not forget - this is the ONLY one they give a 5 year guarantee on! However, since you can ACTUALLY TALK TO LIVE TECHNICIANS with B+W directly at the East and West Coast offices I was able to understood why and how an item could be this thin yet so strong and even better on the threading. The glass is just as thick by the way, it's the Brass/Titanium ring where the work went into and placing the glass in just right. The threading is so smooth you'll notice it immediately upon putting it on, because of this great German machining. it also does NOT need to be tightened much at all. (You should never over tighten these filters anyhow). Getting the filter off for cleaning is a cake walk. 16 coatings make this and their Master Series second to none in my opinion. I was also thinking the color could be a bit odd but it actually looks beautifully professional. I'm using this one on a Nikon AF-S 24-70mm F/2.8 VR ED so naturally I wanted it protected and to look nice and it actually added what I would call a "finished" look about it. Because it's thinner it visually comes across as part of the lens. But, that's my take. The truth is that you'll probably never see it much because you'll be using the Lens Hood so don't worry at all about it. It's a CLEAR AS A BELL in every way for me on my lens and making my shots come out as I really see them (as they should with a great filter). - I'm sure glad there are still companies committed to quality. After a long hiatus from photography I opted to return and one of the very first things to get was protection for the lens glass. The B + W Clear Protection Filter with Ultra Slim Titan Mount (T-PRO), 007, HTC, 16 Layers Multi-Resistant and Nano Coating, Photography Filter, 62 mm was exactly what was in order. It not only does a good job of protection but does not create issues of image degredation due to the additional glass lens itself. As well, like other B + W filters, it threads easily on and off and can be stacked. This is an old school type of filter and one that film pros would use as well. So yes, very happy with this simple product that does its job right, easy on/off threading, and is reasonably priced.

Go 007! Have these on many of my lenses, the clearest and least color cast of all. Titanium ring the closest to my silver finish lens, also very thin

I’ve been using UV filters as they help me protect my front lens elements without the added bulk of a lens hood when I don’t need one. I purchased this to place on my Sony GM 35mm 1.4 lens and it’s absolutely immaculate. No degradation in image quality whatsoever, super thin and beautifully machined, and by far the easiest to clean filter I’ve ever owned. I’ve used Leica and Zeiss filters on the past, and they constantly smudge and refuse to wipe clean even with lens cleaner. This is my first B+W filter, and I now understand why there’s so much love for these. I highly recommend this line of protective filters, completely worth the price
