I've been looking for a shovel for several seasons now, but it's almost impossible to get a single shovel without the set and holder. This shovel fit the bill perfectly! It seems to be heavy duty, and they said it has a lifetime guarantee against breakage...seriously? I actually contacted them and asked them to explain their lifetime warranty, and they replied "if it breaks, you get a new one." Again....seriously??? I guess time will tell. As it is, the price is good, the shovel seems pretty solid, and so far it does the job of scooping out ashes from our wood stove. I'm not anticipating any problems, and with their lifetime warranty, I'm willing to bet I will never have to buy another long handled fireplace shovel again. Would definitely recommend!

This is well built and does what it was intended for. Would buy it again if needed. Just wish it had come in gold color also.

Good value for the money. The brass shovel I had as part of a set finally broke by the rivets after 10 years of heavy use (I heat with wood). No one makes an epoxy product (JB Weld, etc) that withstands the heat of hot embers (1,200°F). So I purchased this. It works fine. The length is proper to fit in the existing stand that I have. The only downside is that the blade (shovel head) is not as wide as the one I had. But the product is of fine initial quality.
