The colour and depiction of ivory is convincing, however these figures have been completely spoiled by a lack of detail. The thrones are both missing their bottom frame struts and the queen's crown is crudely cast. These could easily have been an excellent set, but if you want a Lewis set that is a convincing depiction of the real thing, then I can not recommend this Regency set. I think the figures sold by the British Museum are far superior.

Bit of a disappointment really. The figures themselves are very good, but unfortunately in the manufacturing process in order to obtain a flat base for 5 out of six of the figures, they appear to have ground off what I estimate to be about 3mm and hence have lost some of the original features. (eg the bottom bar of both the king and queen thrones is missing). Even the King (as shown) is ground more at the front than the back and tips forward slightly. I have contacted Regency Chess and they say that the figures are no different to what NMS are selling and seem happy with their product. Interestingly photos of their 3.5" Lewis full sets show that more of the features are reatained. Of course others maybe happy too, but I wasn't.

Excellent quality, lovely presentation box and a wonderful way of having this great history on your book shelves. It also has the ‘berserker!’ And a good price.
