The pedals seem fine for a kids pedal at first, but because the pins are small, flat and wide my daughter has a hard time keeping her feet on them, this may be good for not slicing her shins up, but seems to cause more issues than it’s worth. The major issue I have with these pedals is that the end cap is also what holds the outboard bearing (also the only bearing) in place, so WHEN it falls off the pedal can move half an inch side to side. This is a major design flaw. To get replacement end caps it’s $5 for two, plus $5 for shipping. I highly recommend spending your money elsewhere for real kids mountain bike pedals.

Bought two sets of these pedals for my 9 and 7 year old and they’ve been great! Size is perfect for their feet. Very good balance of grip vs risk to the shins with the flat heads of the pins. As a bonus, the kids love the colors! Couldn’t be happier with these.
