Need to drill big holes? Drive big lags/bolts? Buy this!!!
Amazing! I can’t afford a new hammer drill so the ability to put this in my old rotary hammer (A DC212 7/8” Rotary Hammer) makes my life easier. The majority of my work is framing/remodels and this gets the job done. You get a lot of power and versatility. The bits lock in very well, but to get it to grip you have to hold the bottom part below the blue line and twist the textured top. It fit in my drill well, it moves half an inch to compensate for impacting. It’s worth the money, the value is through the roof!

solid, easy to use on chuck and SDS end
Top-notch tool. Tightens easily, holds tight, no wobble. Quick detach on the SDS side to my Makita hammer drill. Makes it easy to swap out a wood bit in between drilling concrete.

Bosch HA3JAW 1/2-Inch 3-Jaw Keyless Chuck with SDS-plus Shank
Initially I wasn't sure whether to get this or the SDS shank keyed chuck, I haven't had any problems with the HA3JAW. It's for boring large holes in wood, and for large drill bits that don't come in SDS shank. The price seems to fluctuate wildly. The rest of the review is a combined one.. I purchased the RH328VC to drill holes in concrete walls, my garage/workshop walls are 8ft high concrete. This looks like it will do the job and be useful for drilling large holes in lumber as well. It's a quality tool, and comes with a decent case which I think is essential, and I don't believe in paying $50+ extra for one. It is heavy (8.25lbs) so I can't see myself using it on a ceiling. I also purchased a HA3JAW keyless chuck to use with large regular shank drill bits at thirty five, this adds another 0.75lbs. When latched into the SDS chuck it has about 1/2" of forward back movement. Apparently this IS normal for an SDS shank chuck or drill bit-"The drill bit is not held solidly in the chuck, but can slide back and forth like a piston. The hammer of the drill acts to accelerate only the drill bit itself, and not the large mass of the chuck, which makes hammer drilling with an SDS shank drill bit much more productive than with other types of shank". This probably means that the optional HA3JAW keyless chuck should only be used in drill mode, even if you have round shank masonry drill bits. The RH328VC case has storage for small parts, drills, etc and also a generous area for coiling up the power cable. The case appears to be an improved design -the one that came with my Bosch 3/8" drill is worn out -the "living" hinges and the latches are all broken on that (the drill still works fine though). This case has seperate hinges and latches. I'm not that familiar with SDS but originally it was named by Bosch 'The SDS bit was developed by Bosch in 1975 and the name comes from the German "Steck - Dreh - Sitz" (Insert - Twist - Stay)'. Both the RH328VC and the HA3JAW, are Made in Germany.

Broke on the first use !
This item seperated the first time that I used it ! The lower portion nearest the drill pulled off of the plastic piece between the two sections and will not go back in place. I will be getting a refund and probably buy the Milwaukee.

Even though this chuck is branded Bosch I seriously doubt the credibility of same. After a few weeks of normal use it basically fell to pieces and gave up. Had much better use out of unbranded and much cheaper chucks. Save your money and don't purchase this piece of garbage.

Turns hammer drill into one able to use plain drill bits. Works really well.

Excelente producto, la calidad del material no tiene comparación, el mandril es pesado, pero en mi opinión esto es debido a la calidad del material, cuando lo tomas con la mano se siente la solidez del mandril, lo recomiendo al 100%
