New mom here...At what age would you begin using the quilt/comforter? Isn’t it recommended to have nothing in a crib for newborns?

Safe sleep suggests that there should be nothing in the crib with a newborn. You could use the quilt after they transition to a toddler bed though! Most toddler beds use the same mattress as a crib does. What I personally do is just use a quilt as decoration when baby is not in the crib before then.
