AnnoyingPCB - Cricket Noise Maker Prank - The Prank Device that Won’t Stop Beeping for 3 Years

Where to start...I purchased this to prank my office staff. The ladies in the office are a ton of fun, always joking around and having fun, and absolute rockstars at their jobs. They're meticulous and detail oriented, not much gets by them...The kind of environment you enjoy working in, work hard play hard. Enter the little tiny noisemaker. I hid it in a decoration located centrally between the 3 offices, but closer to 2 of them with the beep muffled ever so slightly by it's hiding place. The hiding place was key, due to the short duration of the beep which sounds like a smoke detector alert, it makes the sound very non-directional and hard to pinpoint. That combined with the logic in the board that guarantees there's no rhyme or reason to the frequency of the alert made for the perfect 2 week run of mayhem. It started out as a minor annoyance, but the search escalated quickly. I of course helped them look for the mystery beep, pulling down smoke detectors, checking batteries, unplugging appliances that might possibly be the source. Nothing seemed to help. I checked in with them periodically to see if the noise had abated and even suggested a couple times that they may just be imagining the beep. They started recording the times that it would beep, to try to decipher a pattern that might lead to solving the mystery. I encouraged and supported their efforts the whole time, being as helpful as I possibly could! I announced my prank in the weekly company meeting which got a ton of laughs, and am now walking on pins and needles because I know retribution is coming my way...100% worth it! Do not use this on someone if you're not prepared for them to plot revenge. I can verify that the beeping is as random as could be for anyone that needs to explore their diabolical side, this is a great way to go. 5 stars, highly recommend.

Fun gag for everyone but your targets. Just enough beep to drive your friends crazy. My only complaint is that it beeps when you turn it on, and it beeps as you go through trying to select a tone, so you really need to plan your prank ahead of time. Durability could be better, battery no longer stays in, but it worked once and that's good enough for the price.

I turned on this little gem after midnight, selected beep beep and picked a spot to put it in. I have a small wooden sign on the second shelf of our TV stand that has a magnet on it so it stuck nicely. I lucked out because when the device beep beeped the sound bounced off the wall. It sounded like it came from across the room. I went to bed. My wife is an early riser. When I got up I was greeted with "There's something going off in here, it's driving me crazy! Beep Beep!" Is it the alarm on your phone, did you get a text? I asked. "I don't think so." About two minutes later I lucked out and her phone dings, she got a text. 'There it is, you didn't check your texts.' I said' I leave the room and go down the hall and I hear beep beep. "Did you hear that it's still doing it! 'Nope I didn't hear anything.' I said. This went on almost all day. I kept saying 'I don't hear it but I'll check the smoke detectors. No, they all have green lights.' Whenever I heard the first beep start I'd start to say something and I was mid sentence by the time the second beep finished. "There, there! did you hear that! Beep Beep!" When the evening rolled around it beep beeped through the movie we watched and I kept a straight face. It would go off and I'd see her staring at me to see if I'd smile. I just kept a stone face. She went to bed and I turned it off all the next day. I asked her later if she still heard it and she said no. I turned it on again at midnight the third day and went to bed. She came into the bedroom in the morning saying "It's there again!" 'What does it sound like?' I asked. "Beep! It goes Beep!" Well last time you said it went Beep Beep.' I got up and she told me that she sat next to the TV and heard the beep but it wasn't coming from there. Then she said she sat across the room because it sounded like it came from there but it didn't. She checked all the drawers and decorations to see if I was hiding something and found nothing but it beeped. Then she sat in the hall till it beeped and said it wasn't coming from there either. That is one beep about every 40 minutes. I slept right through all that action.I turned it off and on through out that day. That evening we were at the dinner table and she looked at me and said I need you to tell me, are you doing that Beep thing? She looked so worried. I fessed up. She told me she thought she was going crazy. This little thing is fantastic. It's just a tiny little annoyance that won't let go. An itch inside your head. One of my favorite purchases.

Me and my friend who work together and some others where in a pranking war. I used this device to end the war. I hid 1 of these in his office. I set it to the cricket noise,to clarify my friend has ADHD. And this drove him insane for weeks. He finally found it one night. I saw him find it. So that night I snuck in and hid 3 more in his office. He walked in all triumphant the next day thinking he had finally out lasted the prank. He walked into his office and turn on his computer... Then the chirping started... except now it was comming from all different directions. It took him weeks to find the first device. This moment broke him, you could see it on his face. He admitted defeat and I revealed myself as the prankster. We made a peace treaty that in order for me to remove the devices He could no longer prank me and I was to be known as the prank master. It was one of the most hilarious and devastating pranks ever. Simple yet elegant. And it ended the pranking war with me the decided victor. We are all still good friends.

Purchased this item to use on an unsuspecting coworker. Stealthily hid it in the original packaging in a shirt pocket to await the perfect opportunity to deploy in his vehicle, actually carried it around for quite a while. When I checked it to see if it was working in anticipation of deployment, nothing. Changed the battery. Still nothing. I realize I waited too long to deploy, but it was stored in a safe spot for over a year, new battery installed, and it's DEAD RIGHT THERE! Waste of money, in all reality. I give it 3 stars for the idea, and the sounds it made when it was initially tried out after purchase.

Very small and easy to hind. I've gotten people to call IT thinking its there work computer. Also hind it in the air ducts which made it super hard to find. Defiantly a great prank!
