This book seems like it'll be decent in terms on content- and it's cheaper with the online access than the textbook/online access my college's philosophy dept. was using before.Unfortunately my textbook came missing chapters 2 and 3, pages 59-118. When learning logic, like learning a new language, you need to understand the basics to be successful when the material progresses in difficulty. Luckily, my professor has another copy of the text on reserve in the library that should have the chapters I'm missing.*Edit* it's missing 153 pages between chapter 9 and the glossary as well. So 200+ pages missing total.

I have read several introductory logic books. This one is by far the most attractively laid out, with excellent use of graphics and color to turn what can be an exceedingly dull subject into a lively and engaging one. The author also stresses key fundamental concepts in deductive logic that are often glossed over by other authors. One the negative side, the book's treatment of so-called inductive logic is much more superficial, and sometimes lacks both depth and rigor. My suggestion for the author and publisher would be rename the next edition of the book 'Deductive Logic' and address inductive logic in a separate book.

Rented for school, nasty book with writing, liquid spills and possible bug feces?

Required for a class my son is taking and definitely less expensive than the college bookstore. Plus... he won’t be turning it in so he can highlight or write notes in the margin all he wants.

this book had a few pencil marks but I didn't mind that at all because I got it used. it served the purpose for my class

Ordered this book for class, it came in good condition the only problem was that there's a section in the back of the book with light water damage ?
