New Retro Illustrations: Retro Reimagined by a New Generation (PIE Creators' File Series)

The book is lovely and absolutely charming. So many beautiful pictures in different styles--makes me nostalgic. It gives me great inspiration!

I love the concept of this book and the book cover lured me into buying this collection. I must say the artist who did the cover is my favorite. The content is great but most of them seem to share similar features: neon lights, a lot of bright colors, girls wearing swimming suits and short skirts, which can get boring sometimes. Also I know it’s “retro reimagined by a new generation” but I really can’t figure out how some of the works are retro at all. Just to clarify though they are all really great art works. But for the purpose of diverse content, guess I was expecting more.

I loved how bright and crisp the pictures were. Also I love how the artists reimagined vintage late 70s to early 90s.

Great illustrations and paper quality. I love the matte paper. I think it works better for this art style personally, even though I usually prefer smooth glossy paper for illustrations. The paper itself feels very high quality. If you like retro art this is a must have and great value for the price.One complaint however, the dust jacket came damaged on the back (see images). Unfortunate however the book itself is in perfect condition so not a big deal.

I know this is a bit nitpicky on my part, but i really liked how this book's cover and pages were matte, rather than the glossy most of the books I collect tend to be. The gloss tends to make the illustrations much harder to see due to light reflections and such.Beyond that, I would say that I enjoyed roughly 85% of the art I saw in it, but ofc thats wholly subjective.

Book is beautiful, but came with a massive scratch on the back 😭😭 it took quite some time to arrive so I'm a bit hesitant to request a replacement especially now that its out of stock.

I've fallen love with this retro aesthetic in art over the past couple of years, and this book delivers that kind of work in spades. It features tons of different, extremely talented artists, and the paper used for the book is a cool, matte texture. It's a much purchase for retro fanatics.

super unique illustrations and very pretty! definitely something i will cherish. i was kinda skeptical about the price but once it got here i totally changed my mind. The money is nothing compared to the art in this book. Amazing

Absolutely amazing illustrations! This New Retro style is really charming and this collection was very well curated. The book is a really big size for the price and the paper quality is good.
