I have purchased this product both in my dermatologist's office and a few times here on Amazon, and *every* time it has been the same excellent product. Just research the sellers before choosing one to buy from. When you start using this, you will see that your skin peels a bit, revealing new, plump, smooth skin. The 1% is a high concentration, and if you have very sensitive skin (I do not), you might want to start with the .25 or .5% concentrations, to ease your skin into it. My fine lines and crows feet smoothed out, my skin is plump, and glowing. I especially like the consistency of this product - it is an emulsion that absorbs nicely into your skin, leaving absolutely no greasy residue. So it does NOT have that slimey feel of serums with too much silicone. This product contains no (or very little) silicone. It absorbs quickly, leaving your skin feeling nourished. Use with your regular serums and moisturizers, as retinol itself can be a slightly drying ingredient. Worth every penny, and a bottle last several months. You do not need to apply very much product, so my bottle lasts me 6 months or more, with applying 2-4 times a week at night. If you are looking for the BEST most effective retinol product, this is it! I have tried so many, and none compare to this one!

Expensive but good results .

You get your money's worth - it is definitely strong. I am 44 years old and have used retinol products for over 10 years. In fact, I used to use them every night more or less. After using this one for two nights in a row, my face was flaking off the next day. They are not kidding when they say use it twice per week at most when starting out. I feel like I got a chemical peel. But after dealing with the dryness and figuring out how often to use it per week, I like it. My skin texture is definitely improved, wrinkles are lessened, etc. It is doing its anti-aging job. And because you have to use it so few times per week, it is a steal at that price.

I’ve ordered this product a couple of times, in the past it was effective and worked on my skin. Since it’s a 1.0 and somewhat drying on my skin type I learned to sandwich it with a moisturizer as needed. With the recent purchase I used the 1.0 serum by itself for 5 nights in a row and have seen no change at all. My skin normally would be slightly red and dry in more sensitive areas. Either it is a fraudulent product or sold to me oxidized!

I used Skin Medica 1.0 retinol for years and tried to go cheaper with Cerave retinol but noticed how dull and unsmooth my skin looked. I will gladly pay more to have skin that looks like I’ve been to a spa.

I’ve been using the 0.5 retinol of this brand for a few months and thought I should upgrade to the 1%. With the 1% I experienced burning around my neck and mouth that lasted 24hrs after applying. Then, I experienced peeling 3 days after application for at least a week.At first I thought I was having an eczema flair up until I realized it was the retinol. During the peeling stage I made sure to use a gentle facial cleanser, cold water, and apply creams for eczema.After the peeling faze, I had a reduction of my hyperpigmentation from acne and my skin over all looks brighter and fresh.I was using it twice a week, but I’m probably going to drop back to the 0.5 for a while.Tl;dr if you have sensitive skin your face will definitely burn and peel. Make sure to moisturize, apply that sunblock, and avoid any irritants (dust, pet hair, perfumes, makeup, ect) during the peeling faze.

Retinol is worth the money.

Be careful! This stuff works! I bought it on the advice of a dermatologist! Yes, kinda pricey, I know. Skin peels for the first few weeks…which is what it’s supposed to do! Now, my skin no longer peels but because this stuff is so strong, I now only use it about twice a week now. Because I love what it’s done for my face, I started using it on my hands & I swear, my hands are visibly improving! However, there is a downside, but it’s NOT the fault of this product. I learned the hard way that when using retinol, you must also use sunscreen…or you’ll be sorry…and, one unusually hot day, I was sorry…after walking around for no more than 15 minutes! Ouch!! I looked like a lobster head! I’ll never do that again! Kind of bummed that it put an end to my tanning days…but, because of the great results, I can live without baking in the sun for, so far, one season!! I repeat: THIS STUFF WORKS! And trust me, I am no spring chicken!!
