Excellent & lit fireplace very quickly

These are great firestarters. I used them to start up my charcoal chimney. The first time I used an entire disc which proved to be overkill. The second time I broke one in half and that worked out great.Pros:1. Effective. By far the best firestarter I have tried and I have done many to include diy.2. Long burn time, approx 15 min. The first 12 min flame was strong and it was putting out great heat. The last 3 min flame was slowly diminishing.2. Quickly caught on fire with a lighter.Cons:1. Messy. I had to clean up a lot of little pieces when I broke a disc in half.2. Left some burnt-out residu (not that big of a deal)3. Expensive

Gotta say when my little brother recommended these I took it with a grain of salt. You know how little brothers are always exaggerating when anything happens to them or any little thing that goes wrong. But I have to hand it to him these are top rated products. Come in fancy little packages you only need a quarter to do the job. I ordered, got em, and figured I would give em a test in my fire pit outside. Put part of one in, lit it up, and tossed some old waterlogged tree branches that have been sitting on the ground for a couple years and watched them dry out and light up. Way better than even mentioning those little break off squares I used to that would go out if you breathed on them. Great product

Glad I found these fire starters. Best that I've found. Starts up easy and has my fire roaring in no time. Always keep these in stock.

These things are amazing! they light up quickly with a single match and burn for a long time producing a lot of heat. I used them to heat food and water on a single camp stove. I used about a half unit each time.The only downside is that they can create a waxy black soot layer on your cookwear that is difficult to remove without scrubbing. I remedied that by inserting a piece of metal between the flame and my equipment. Th smoke never directly hit the gear and so it was spared.

Bought one of these starters at a campsite in Oregon. Great instant started.

I've used dozens of fire starters in the fireplace and camping and these are the best.No odorBurn a long time so fires always start, even with hard-to-light oak and mesquite.I'll buy more.

This is I think the third year in a row I have ordered these fire starters and I love them they work well and don't leave any residue

These fire starters don’t work well at all. They are really dried out and you definitely need the entire patty to start a fire in a wood stove. They are a poor alternative to the originals!
