Beautiful, singing high register
Love it! Replaced the Larsen A/D on my cello with Passione, and am happy with the switch. I will definitely be buying more when it comes time for new strings. I liked the Larsen strings a lot, but wanted something with a bit more complexity and warmth, and that is exactly what I got with the Passiones. As would be expected, I sacrificed a little bit of power switching from Larsen to Passione, but not as much as you might expect.Where these strings truly shine is in the high register, where they have a gloriously warm, beautiful, and projecting sound. They are noticeably more pliant than the Larsens, which is really nice when playing up in that register. While I think they sound fantastic, it is worth mentioning that they are less forgiving than the Larsens. I found that I made more squeaks and scratches than usual when I made the switch a couple weeks ago, but that has faded as I get used to them. They won't let you get away with sloppy shifts or bowing as much, and require more care and control, but there is no doubt in my mind that the resultant sound is entirely worth it.Another caveat, is that I've heard from others that Passiones tend to die pretty quickly, but when they sound this good, and cost significantly less than many other string varieties, I can definitely live with that.

Brightened my cello's tone a bit
My old cello has a dark timbre to it's tone so I felt the Pirastro Flexocor D string I had on it sounded a bit dull on my cello. I put the Flexocor on my daughter's cello (which is very bright and loud) and it sounds great. I replaced the Flexocor with this Passione string and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the rich tone that it produced. I have since sold my old cello and have purchased a new one. My new cello has a bright, round tone and low-n-behold it came with a full set of Passione strings! The sound it produces is lively and the resonance is just lovely! The higher registers are crisp and clear as this string is very responsive and easy to play. I would recommend Passione strings for any cello!

The strings themselves are not very good quality, had a thin
evergreen strings "lost" my return of this string, and it was in the same package as the passione A I returned and they received. Very inaccurate company, and no way to contact them. The strings themselves are not very good quality, had a thin, high feeling to them, not a full rich sound. Skip these strings, and this seller
