Great item--but limited to what you can do
I've used this item for a few months now and am ready to write my review.1. Have time to put the item together. The directions started out with, "Due to limited time a user manual has not been included." I laughed myself silly--knowing it was going to take some time to figure out all the little parts. They are all black--except for one that is in-color in the diagram--but black in reality. It is quite heavy (which is good as it means that the item is quite sturdy), so you should have an extra set of hands to hold the item while you put together all the little parts. With it all put together I was ready to go!2. The item has a nice large surface and will fit the following:a. a laptop with a touch pad--there is no room for a mouse or a mouse pad on the side.b. a large screen computer in front of you--I have mine on a book shelf not on the bike desk--which leaves just enough room for a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.c. the padded arm rests are a very nice feature, as they help alleviate numbness in the wrists and hands--do not use them to hold your weight getting on or off the bike.d. adjusting the angle of the desk is quite easy--but can be tricky.3. The surface is quite slick--so purchase the grip-cloth often used in tool boxes and nothing will slip off the surface.4. Since the desk is quite heavy (and sturdy) so it can make your bike top-heavy. Make sure you have a stool on the side of your bike trainer so that you are not leaning on the arm pads to dismount the bike. Two things will happen if you do: 1. the arm rests will begin to slip down and 2. the bike can tip over (I'm using a lightweight road bike--it might be different for a heavy mountain bike). These are not bad comments, just heads-up comments.Since I have a bike desk (I designed and built) and a treadmill desk in my home office, I wanted something more compact for another room. The only limitations I see, due to the design, is that I'm pretty much limited to answering email, online shopping, or things that don't require extensive text composition. If you want to get some of your bike training in while getting lightweight office work completed, this is the gadget for you!

low quality mount
The desk top is great, its a sticky rubber surface and its a large surface. The quality of it is a little better than I expected. Where the FitDesk pro fell short was when I tried to mount it on my bike. Regardless of what it says, its made a flat 26mm bar. That's the diameter of the bar where the desk attaches, or the stem of your bike. Unless you are riding an old bike be very careful! My bars are 31.8mm as are the bars on all my bikes (mountain bike, road bikes). You can probably still mount it on the bigger bars, but expect them to damage them, and don't trust that they wont slip. I dont trust my computer on this thing, especially since my computer is more valuable than the entire bike. The second thing I did after trying to fit this to my bike was switch out the bars and stem on my bike. this proved to be a mistake since the welds around the mounting bolts are so fat and wide, the mounting bolt wont fully tighten due to the weld being in the way. So at this point I have taken my hacksaw out and I am cutting the weld partially in order to have the washer and bolt sit where they are supposed to sit so I can tighten it down.Somewhere in the process I have given up and want to just throw this thing away. In fact, my rating of two stars is about to be changed to zero... since I can't even use the desk to begin with.LAST THING: its really really heavy.

I have 6 bikes... This fits none of them
I have 4 mountain bikes and 2 road bikes and the part that attaches to the handlebars on this is too small for any of them. The picture on this product shows a road bike and this company does sell this product for bikes but the description says for stationary?

Complex assembly, not easy on/off
I had hoped that this would be easy to assemble and put on and take off my bike, since I use my bike for commuting and errands when it's not on the exercise stand. The assembly almost takes two people to do - you can do it with one person, but two people to hold the parts makes it easier. Unfortunately there is no easy on/easy off with this thing. That definitely makes it more secure for your laptop, which is a good thing, but if you want to use your bike and put on/take off this desk day to day, it's not going to work for you. It takes several minutes to put it on or take it off, and it isn't at all easily collapsible for storage.Unfortunately mine shipped with a significant number of parts missing, which I only discovered after getting it 3/4 put together and assembled on the bike (the instructions are not great and there is no listing of parts to make sure you have everything before getting started), so I returned it, and I don't know that I'm going to order another one. If they designed a clamp that made it easier to remove and replace while remaining secure, I'd consider it, but this just wasn't what I was looking for.
